PHXTCORRY, if I may ask what ship/div is she in now?

Comment by Grape Mom Texas on December 12, 2016 at 11:46am

PHXTCORRY,  I got my first call this past Sat and I was heart broken as my daughter was crying and saying how hard it was. She missed hearing from us.  I appreciate what JayDee659 said that bootcamp is supposed to break their spirit. I hope the next call my daughter will sound better. It was good to hear from her even if it was just for a short time. We keep our cell phone with us everywhere and we have the ability to forward our home phone to our cell. Hang in there I believe it will get better soon.

Comment by JayDee659 on December 12, 2016 at 11:29am

PHXTCORRY - I'm so sorry you missed the call!!!  Keep your phone by you at all times and for heavens sake, leave the ringer ON.  My calls always came from area code 847.  I even kept my ringer on in church and everyone that sat by me and pastor knew that I was waiting for calls from boot camp.

I was actually surprised at how quickly she was able to call back, it was sooner than 2 weeks but keep in mind that every group is different.  And just because someone in her group called doesn't mean she will get to.  They have to stand watch and sometimes will miss out on the call time.

Don't get too worried about how she sounded.  Boot camp is supposed to break their spirits.  My guess is that there will be an incredible change in attitude next time she calls.

Remember - two weeks down and only 6 to go!  A school will be so different.  Hang in there momma and feel free to vent here.  We all understand.

My daughter has been gone 2 weeks and was allowed to make her first phone call from boot camp...I am so heartbroken, I missed the call and the voice mail she left had me upset all day.  She was in tears and kept saying how much she missed and loved me.  She said she can call again in 2 weeks and to expect a letter soon.  Guess my phone will not be leaving my side for the next 5 weeks.

Oops sorry Anna! Your rock. My brain us a rock.

I saw that pile up plus the 40 car on I96 in Michigan. 96 runs through my home town. You can bet I was checking on friends who are still there. All are fine!
Comment by Anna on December 10, 2016 at 12:06am

LOL JayDee!!  I'm the one who has the rock from the land scam.  Funny thing - it's in our trailer with us, we use it as a door stop!!!!!  Sorry to hear your parents got caught in a land scam also!!

Thank you for all the good thoughts ladies!!  I will certainly let you know when some good news comes along!!!

Oneofalot,

Ooo I was thinking of you yesterday when I heard on the news that the Pacific Northwest was getting snow!!!  Stay safe tho most people there don't know how to drive in snow!!!!

Speaking of driving - did you hear about the 70 car pileup in Ohio on I90?  I've traveled that stretch of roadway many times, can't believe that many cars and trucks couldn't avoid it.  Thank God no one was killed.  And my little hometown of Chardon had the most snowfall across NE Ohio - - - 7 inches!!  So happy I'm not living there now, but I feel bad for my sister who still delivers mail in that mess!!!!

Morning! No snow here in the desert. But the 50 degree weather for us feels like Christmas lol!

It's terrible what you're going thru Anna. Joining JayDee and everyone else's prayers that you get the attention and assistance you deserve.

Have a great day everyone!

JayDee, I haven't a digital picture of the kids and Santa yet. Sorry.
Comment by JayDee659 on December 9, 2016 at 9:07am

Good morning everyone!  When I went out to my car this morning there were snow flurries falling!!!  Nothing sticking but it was refreshing to my soul to see those little flakes.

Anna, it's disappointing about your knee.  Praying that someone will step up and get you the care you need.

Blondie did you get the snow yesterday?  I can't remember if you're close enough to get the lake snow or not.

Yes, Oneofalot, you're teasing!  You tell us it's a cute picture but yet you're not sharing.  You're going to end up on Santa's "naughty" list if you don't share!

Rolie's mom, be glad you have that rock.  My folks got involved in a similar deal and don't even have a rock.  :(

Good Morning to Everyone. We got snow, finally. Probably not going to work. All the schools are closed. That means the roads are bad.
