For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Boomer vs. Fast Attack?
I want your 'wife's-opinion'. If there was a choice, which did you want to choose: Boomer or Fast Attack??
I've researched and know the pros and cons, but I want word from women who have really lived each. Thanks a bunch ladies!

I would definitely choose Boomer. Their deployments are a little bit more routine and only last as long as 3 months. The boomers are also a lot bigger, and they say it's more comfortable for the guys. My husband is an MT...so he was going to be on a SSBN regardless. I'm definitely happy he's on a boomer. Although, a deployment is a deployment, and they all suck regardless of how long they are.

My husband and I discussed the pros and cons of both and we chose fast attack. The only negative thing about them in our eyes is the longer deployments, but we are a really strong couple and we know we can handle it. When I asked him about what his job would entail on each, and what would be more fun and exciting, he said fast attack. That was all I needed to know. Life on a sub will be stressful at times, and it is important to me that my husband is excited about what he is doing. The more he loves what he does, the happier he will be, and the happier I will be.
Right before he had his port picks, he asked me again if I was ok with fast attacks. I replied, "you're in the Navy, why play it safe? Go see the world and bring me back presents!"
Keep in mind he has not gone to his boat yet, but will in the next month. Maybe I will change my mind then, but as for now, we are happy with our pick.
