Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 163 and 164

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Do all SRs in a division have the same training schedule? If so, does anyone know what day of training they are on?

Somewhere on this site someone explained it, but I think our recruits started T1(training day 1) last Thursday or Friday. Weekends don't count, and they typically PIR 9 Fridays after they start. So my son arrived on wednesday the 27th and the 28th was his first processing day (p1), counting that Friday and 8 more puts u at 26 April.. Anyways I THINK they are on training day 6 tomorrow (maybe 7)..... You could look around the site, prbly explains in the boot camp group. Look for lemon elephant comments, she explains everything really well.

Thank you! I was coming up with today being T-6, IF he had 5 P days, and neither Saturday counted toward anything.

My son is in the same ship/div as yours. I am not first to know anything bc he is married, and calls are to his wife, so I hear from her. He is older than most, 35 yrs. Joined the reserves bc he has always had a burning desire to serve. My dad was a career Navy man and I grew up a Navy brat. My son is a teacher. He was worried about keeping up with the young guys physically, but seems to be doing ok. He was sick from the shots they got when they first arrived. He powered through so his PIR would't be delayed. I really love (need) hearing what you girls have to say.

We think today, friday is T7

My son is in 164. Hoping to get a letter today but I will not be home as I am headed out see to my other Navy's son in San Diego. That way I will not be stalking the mailman hoping for a letter.

Have a great day everyone.  Talk to ya when I get back.

My son is in div 164 also. He is not much of a writer so maybe very few letters. I will write probably once a week. He will be busy and will need to be using his free time to iron uniforms shine boots, and study!

You may be surprised buy how many letters you get.  None of my sons were writirs but I got at least one letter a week from them during boot camp. This one in now is a writer so I hope to get more or he may just write to more people.

I hope you are surprised and get many letters.

Got a call today and it was nice to hear from him. Hope you all get calls as well, we only got to talk for a few minutes as he had trouble finding a phone that I could hear him, he could hear me but I could not hear him. Made my day!!

Anyone's recruit starts with a J and in 163?

My son's fits that description. He also wears glasses and from his call yesterday his biggest anxiety right stems from using dandruff shampoo for itchy scalp; they're sending him for a medical exam because of it??? I guess they have to rule out psoriasis, eczema, etc. He didn't elaborate said he'd see me on April 26. He was quite choked up when it was time to hang up...I wanted to jump into the phone and hug him!

Hi ladies!!  I haven't been here for awhile.  Hope everybody is doing well and I'm sure, many of you feel better now that you have received a phone call.  I, unfortunately, did not receive a call, but I am sure there is a good reason for it.  My son was going to have a wisdom tooth removed and I really feel this was the reason I did not get a call from him Saturday.  I cannot wait to hear his voice so I pray he gets to call home soon.:)  We've made it almost three weeks moms, almost halfway through this. Can't wait to see my son walk through those doors at PIR!!  I'm sure you all feel the same!  Talk to you all later....
