Crom, once we settle on a venue I am sure we'll be able to find someone to pick you up at the Caltran station in San Mateo. Regardless of where we end up, picking you up from the Caltran station should not be a problem.

Crom welcome to the group, I know what you mean, my son has been in the Navy for 8 years and this is the first Mother's day I have had with him and his new family. This was the most fantastic Mother's Day ever. We went to our older son's house with his wife's parents and brother. our 2 year Grandson was running around the backyard with me. When suddenly like a tv commercial someone put his hands over my eyes and I turned to find my Sailor! He had called me this morning early to say Happy Mother's day and didn't let on that he had flown in last night to his fiancee's house and was going to surprise me today. It was a kleenex moment, he is getting married in December and we weren't planning on seeing him until the wedding. I must say I am so blessed with two wonderful sons and two wonderful daughters (no inlaws in my family) I will now have a Granddaughter as well as a Grandson when they marry. I am the happiest Navy Mom in the world. Our family hasn't been together for the holidays in a while with all of the deployments. But, today will live on in my memories and dreams for a long time.

Happy Mother's day to all,

Sandy H

My goodness. That was fast. You must be online.  Do me a favor? Please go to the San Fran page and post a comment - introduce yourself.  If you flip back to the comments posted in March, you'll photos we took from our meet and greet in Santa Rosa. You can get to the San Fran page by clicking GROUPS, then MY GROUPS or by clicking MY PAGE, then GROUPS (under your photo).  My son is finished his commitment to the Navy last year but I wouldn't have survived without this site.

Sounds good to me. Keep me updated on what everyone decides.

Sweeneyct, that is music to our ears. In fact - the next meet and greet should be in East Bay. Let' touch base with Kathy (I think you've met her) and Cal Sailor Mom, one of our admin who also lives in East Bay and figure out a date.  Kathy will be coming from your direction - car pool maybe?

I have just joined and will be attending. I am in El Sobrante. Not exactly the peninsula, but am willing to host if you find it to be a central location. I love to have gatherings at my home. And I am also ok with heading over to the peninsula or wherever the location is. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Comment by BunkerQB on April 21, 2013 at 1:21pm

navy mom, at the moment our meet and greet will be at a restaurant - so other than money, no. But if we can find a family to host at their house, they everyone will be assigned something. I don't mind hosting but I am further south down the Peninsula - making the drive too long for those coming from Santa Rosa and East Bay.

Will be there. Do I need to bring anything?

Comment by BunkerQB on April 19, 2013 at 12:12pm

Hi everyone. Busy with work this week but will work on getting us a venue soon. We have a little time to finalize things but definitely looking forward to meeting new people and seeing "old" people (LOL, Quiltlady, Sandy, Kathy). StephenC and joyfulmom are tweener since they have been to one meet and greet already. In fact Stephen pitched in brilliantly with organizing the one in Santa Rosa in March.
