I am happy to hear that everyone had a good time on Saturday! I know I enjoyed the event AND enjoyed see all of you. Some of us went to the West Side Market after lunch - such bargains and unique items! We met some new Navy Moms and Dads. I also enjoyed seeing the girls from Cleveland (twins) again. We did not chat much this event - but I hope we can play some great games at some upcoming outdoor events. I will research our June date and we can "hash over" some fun ideas. Our weather was not in our favor - but we still had a good time. My family enjoyed the event too! Brenda Kay and Becky - Matt's Mom, thank you for commuting with us - I enjoyed our chats too!

We had great tour guides, Tim (SubVet - torpedoeman (sp) and Paul (curator). I was able to deliver $115.00 in donations for the USS COD Submarine Memorial from our group. I will prepare a formal "Thank you" letter and mail it soon. We met many volunteers from the SubVet group. They are a proud group and we all value their past, present, and future time to preserve the memorial and educate others.

Thanks to all for making it a fun event ~ : ) kk

I guess the "private message" system did not work earlier today. The general comment was - be prepared to pay the admittance fee noted on the website above either as admittance or as donation within the Thank You card. ~ : ) ~ kk

Here is what I got from their website. Hope this is helpful!

Admission fees are the only source of funding for this proud vessel, and they make possible the ongoing maintenance and restoration necessary to preserve the USS COD for future generations. The Cleveland Coordinating Committee for COD receives no funding from the U.S. Government nor from any other organization.

Admission charges are: Adults $7; Seniors and college students $6; Students (K thru 12) and active military with ID, $4; Children under 6 years, and military in uniform and wives and family of active duty submariners are admitted free; Inactive/Retired military $6. COD has limited free parking for our guests for the time of their visit to the submarine. For those planning on visiting other area attractions we recommend parking at the convenient airport parking lot just to the east of our parking lot.

I am interested in attending your event. I was wondering what the charge is for the tour? Also, should we meet there earlier than 10?
