Final RSVPs:
Here is our confirmed count per the event page: mikesproudmom, MamaBear kk, PapaBear S (lol), Sailor Son, Brenda Kay, terbeasch, TammySue and husband, Becky-Matt's Mom, LM Coil and Dan, nurseysis and guest, Susan R and family (2 or 4) = 15 or 17

I have notified the USS COD Submarine crew of our count and have asked if 10:00AM works for them.

I have also sent an email to the Boardwalk Cafe making them aware of our count. Although they do not accept reservations, they will try their best to get us seated together. Please see the menu posted above (not my typos - it was a copy paste - lol).

The tentative agenda will be; tour at 10:00AM and lunch following. I will post more information later regarding parking, etc.

Lunch at the Boardwalk Cafe works for me and I must be having blond moments, what time is the tour? Is it at 10 so we should be there earlier or are we meeting at 10 and then the tour? To many hours working and not enough sleeping this week lol

I'm happy to volunteer to head over there early, even if we are not quite done with the tour yet. Sounds like a perfect choice for lunch. And to answer your earlier post, we shoudl definitely have a group picture taken outside the COD. I will try to bring my camera as well. Thanks for setting this up - I'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone!

UPDATE: I found a great place for our lunch; Boardwalk Cafe on N. Marginal Road - right down the street from the USS COD. It was recommended by the USS COD Submarine crew. They actually had their meeting there this past weekend. Here is the big "BUT" - they do not take reservations. They said if we get there, or one of us gets there, by 11:30 AM - they would be able to shove tables together for us. Is everybody OK with this? I know we are use to reservations, but I think we can make a go of it. Is anyone against this plan. Their menu looks good! The prices look great! : ) ~ kk

Update ~ Tomorrow, Monday 4/26, I am calling a restaurant not far from the USS COD Submarine to see if they can accommodate us for lunch after our tour. So far our confirmed count is 12. Anyone else interested?

As usual, the goal is to locate a place with good food at reasonable prices. Also, please let me know if you would like to have a group picture taken at the USS COD Submarine Memorial : ) ~ kk

Correction: MamaBear kk had a brain burp. Just a little update ~ The USS COD is making arrangements for our tour. They have recommended a restaurant which I am researching. Wow! This is in less than two (2) weeks!

Brenda Kay ~ hahaha you caught me! I realized this after I signed off yesterday. I spend so many hours on a computer, I could not force myself to boot up, sign on and fix it ~ until now : ) ~ kk

LM Coil
- I am old and still follow the tradition of no white pants before May 31st - the same day we plant the garden! LOL
Comment by LMC -mom of 2 Sailors! on April 21, 2010 at 10:38pm
I would suggest wearing tennis/flat shoes to this. Might also want to avoid white pants.
