While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Yes we did get a call what a wonderful thing! Cameron says the same thing about the talking too much. LOL he sounded good I would like to see you and Charlene at graduation so we all can meet and celebrate!

My daughter in d.153, ship 9, too. grad date 4/18. I haven't received any any any calls. I am so glad you got a 20 min. call. that is amazing! My daughter also said she stays to herself because she doesn't want to get yelled at either. She likes the Recruit Division commanders (RDCs) but hates when they yell! She doesn't like it either when the whole group has to do...IT..she explains that this is Intensive Training where they have to do lots of push ups, jumping jacks and other jumpy stuff. The whole group has to do IT when one or two sailors have not figured out that they just have to obey the rules. This is probably what your son dislikes too..he 'gets it' and wants the others to pipe down so all is peaceful and calm!!! I am not sure that happens in basic training!!

How old is your son now? How did he get delayed entery till 2011? Is he in a Navy cadet program?

Hello Everyone,
My son is in DIV 139, Ship 10, and I haven't received a phone call yet. Alex left on February 14 and I got my initial 5 second call and that was it. Has anyone heard from their sons/daughters by phone? Are they in Alex's division? Please let me know.
I called yesterday the number on the website to find out about graduation. As far as I know Alex will graduate on April 11. Contrary to what I have been told, he will get liberty but he will have to be back on base in the evenings. I don't care, I can't wait to see him again. Alex is pre-SEAL and will be leaving for California after graduation but I don't know how long after. Quite frankly, I know nothing! I'm getting concerned that I didn't receive a call.
Thanks for letting me vent, I needed it.

Don't be concerned Ronnie -- it is normal to not receive a phone call for quite a few weeks - I think Kevin was there for about 3 before I received one and it can all vary. Have you received a letter yet? And I have only received one and he graduates 3/21!

Hi Ronnie , have you tried calling his recruiter , I just spoke to my sons recruiter and he was able to answer alot of my questions , I now know when when Ryan will be heading to school and even what time his curfew will be. Good luck

Pat,
They can only write on Sundays and their time is limited then. Hang in there....he'll write you more. It's quite an adjustment for them. My son was the same....the g/f got quite a few more letters in the beginning, but then he began to miss Mom too, so the letters were more in depth.

Hi my name is Wini, my son Jake has been in the Navy since June 06. He is currently stationed in San Diego, a long way from our home in Memphis. He is an AT3. He is the eldest of my 3 sons, I also have Simon a junior in college and Michael who is in high school. I have survived a 7 1/2 month deployment gesh I thought boot camp was hard LOL. Anyway the Navy has been the best decision my son has ever made.

Hello All! My son's PIR was 11/2/07 and was in holding in GL until early Jan 08 when he started ATT. He just completed that class and is waiting (again). He is to be sent to Jacksonville, FL for "A" . . he is an AT . . he is my youngest and had his 19th BD while in holding at THU (bummer) and spent XMAS there as well. He did get to come home for a few days AFTER Xmas. Hopefully we will be able to go to Jacksonville shortly after he gets settled in there and can have his car.

Michele from Maine, here. I am a "seasoned" Navy mom and probably one the older moms!!! Adam enlisted in 2001 and is now out of the Navy, as of Oct. 2007.
