Hi Lois, my son is in A School in MO as a Reserve Seabee - we currently live in Seattle, and are in the process of relocating to IL for a corporate transfer. He is scheduled to graduate at the end of this month, and will report to Everett, WA for his first reserve drill. So your son already knows when he will deploy? Would love to chat with you. Barb
Hi Barb, thanks for the reply. My son went to A school in California, and is stationed at Newport, R.I. for drills, he doesn't have an exact date for deployment, but he knows it will be in August. :) Lois
yes, he is still in MS. being deployed 9/3.
Hello Lois. My daughter was in Mississippi, and returned home on the 23rd of August, She was down there for combat training. She left on the 30th to head to Kuwait, and on the way there, they had some problems with the aircraft, and had to make an emergency landing in Ireland. she was there for almost 2 days, and just this evening, she left to head and drop off the airforce in Afghanastain(sp) and then they are headed off to kuwait She is in a special force unit, which has a 6 month deployment over there. she is my only daughter, with a 21 month old daughter. Now today my only son that is a Marine, left for Iraq, Here we are and my only children are off to fight in a war. I admit my daughter seems to be in a safer place than my son, but I will still worry daily, well every minute. I know i have lost sleep already, I think the baby knows mommy is gone for a while again. because she is not sleeping thru the night. So I do know what you are going thru. and I will keep you in my prayers. I know you will cry alot of tears, because I dont think my tear fountain has shut off yet. It was really hard to work today, and everyone keps asking how i am doing. I just look at them, and say,. I am fine. and took all i had to hold back the tears. So when your child leaves tomorrow, just remember,. It is ok to cry, Just think, we are all crying together.. God Bless you and your family..... with many prayers, from mother to mother...

Betty
NMCB 25 here!
Thanks Betty! You and your family are also in my prayers. Lois
Lois, please let us know what happens with his travel plans and communications. Are the moms here hearing much from their Seabees"? Many Hugs to you all, God willing, all your loved ones will return SAFE!
Hi Linda, well, my last communication with Marc was last evening. He couldn't tell me a whole lot, I did get his new address, and I don't expect to hear from him for a while. From your mouth to God's ears! Thanks
He leaves today right? Ohhhhhh, toooo hard to imagine~
Hi Linda, well, he left on the 4th, he called Sunday the 7th to let us know he was in Kuwait, waiting to move to wherever his destination is, he couldn't say where.
While Marc was in Mississippi, we heard from him almost daily.
Hi Lois, I have a Seabee reserve that just started A school today in Mo. He has been there for 2 weeks on hold until school started. We found out that the unit he is to be reporting to just returned home in March, so he is thinking that he may not deploy for a while. Please keep us posted on what you learn as you go along. I am very worried, but I have faith that they will teach him all he needs to know. He is very proud to be part of such an elite group. God Bless your son and I will keep him in my prayers. Michelle
Hi, Lois, My son is due to graduate from boot camp on Sept. 26th. He is to be a SeaBee. He is to go to Port Hueneme for his "A" school. Did your son go PH for "A" school? Was wondering if you could tell me anything about that school.
Thanks, Carol
