We need to remember everyday all of our military and their families and
thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's
good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to
be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are
voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal
media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many
Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize
that the vast majority of America supports our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity
and respect starts this Friday and continues each and every Friday
until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that. Every
red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every
Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the
bleach ers.

If everyone of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the !
USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the
once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever;
certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make
things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and
wear something red every Friday.

Hi Mary,
My son left for boot camp 3/12/08. I work at a VA hospital. I just ordered my red shirt last week. i think this is a great idea. The hospital auxillery was taking orders as part of a fund raiser. That was the first time I had heard about the idea. Thanks for passing the word.

That is wonderful ladies, I think this is a great way to make a positive statement about our troops. Someone emailed it to me earlier today and I thought this site would be a great way to great the message out. It was the first I had heard of Red Fridays, I'm happy to hear that the VA is already on it!

Great info Marie, thanks for sharing. I hope our media gives Red Friday the attention that it deserves!
Mary- This has been around since after 9/11. It is amazing the number of people you see who actually do wear red on Friday's. The school I worked at last year always had a huge deal with it, and once a month those students that wore red on all the Friday's of the month got to be dismissed from school 45 minutes early. I have made my whole family "special" Red Friday shirts. My daughter's says "My brother My Sailor My Hero" . She loves it and wore it today with great pride instead of the shirt that she was to wear for the school assembly today. Her principal will understand because he is from a Navy family. God Bless each and everyone on this site.
That is really nice April, I did not realize that Red Fridays had been out there since 9/11. I know your daughter is smiling today and thinking of her big brother - nice.
My goodness I have never heard of this........... I am going to have to go home for lunch and get a red shirt on.
i did not realize this either but i will get the word out to everyone that i can. My boss at work just heard from her son that is in the marines and had to go to Iraq. He called her this morning and told her that he was there. Maybe she can put out an informational note out to evryone at work to wear red on fridays
