Tammy, my son Jeremy, just graduated on 08/28/09 and is at GL waiting to begin A-School. I live in Dallas, GA.
Hi all, I'm from Rome, Ga. Anyone have a son or daughter in ship 13 div 361?
Is that an October 9th graduation date? I don't know if we have anyone in div. 361 but we do have a graduation coming up on 9.25 as well as 10.09
I am in Chickamauga GA. Near the Chattanooga TN border. My son left for BC yesterday.
Vicki, I live in Grovetown. It is by Augusta boardering up to Ft. Gordon. I am retired from the Navy as is my husband. My son Barry is a "Bubble Head" out of Bangor, WA. He is getting ready to go out for another 90 days. He, as I are pretty used to that though. When my son joined, I was not only his mother but I was also his recruiter. My sons first oath when he went to boot camp was the same day and time I took my last oath for my last 3 years till I retired. So, I think I have a unique outlook on the service, children in the service and what to expect and how to handle different situations that may come up.
Vicki - that is really cool that yu were your son's recruiter! You do have a unique outlook that many folks have not had an opportunity to be exposed to. So glad that you are here to share with us.
May I ask what a "Bubble Head" is? :-)
Hi Danielle-B's mom , a 'Bubble Head' rides subs. There are 'Fast Attack' subs that have no real set schedule for sailing and there are 'Boomers' which typically are out to sea for 90 days at a time. Boomers have 2 crews, one is the Blue and the other is the Gold crew. My son rides Boomers so he sorta has a schedule for being out to sea. I hope this helped
Hi Ga mom's, I am cindy and my son Gary is in BC @ GL . His PIR is 10/16, ship 13 div 363. We are from Senoia Ga. I see a few of you are from the Kingsland Ga. My sister and family live in Kingsland/ St Mary's area. It's nice to meet every one.
Hi! My name is Paula and I live in Woodstock, GA. Moved here to GA in 2006 from NJ. My son Brian is a LTJG stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI. Would love to meet other Navy moms in the area.
Welcome Paula - we have a number of families in Woodstock and I'm in marietta. We do like to get together every month or so and probably will do the next function late October.

My son is stationed in Pearl Harbor as well :-)
Hi Paula,
Where in NJ did you live? I grew up in Bergen County then moved to Sussex County for 10 years. I moved to GA in 2000 and absolutely love it here.
