My son is in BC now, and he said the only day he doesn't get mail is on Sundays. There is another forum about overnighting mail. Don't remember where it is though...
NO he is not In Bc-he is across the street. The overnite package got there but..but he never got mail on Saturdays...I keep asking and he said no mail on saturdays..
Hi Diane, We've commented to each other before PIR...My son, Zack, is in GL right now, too, his PIR was also on 3/21. I overnighted my son's cellphone last Thursday, it was delivered to the base on Friday, but he didn't get it until the middle of this week. Your son will need to walk to the mail room to pick his cellphone up, it's probably there waiting for him. I have decided no more overnight packages because they get regular mail just a quickly...and its way cheaper!! Does your son have a laptop, or is he getting one? Zack doesn't have one right now, but mentioned that he is saving his money to be able to buy one. He is really enjoying school and likes living in a room with only 4 sailors instead of 70+. He also was pretty excited about having a closet to hang his clothes in. The little things in life are so important now!! To me, too. :)
Hi Patty, Shawn got his cell monday a.m.-yes he did walk down and pick it up, the women down @ the post office had a atitude but all is good. Shawn loves school also but he didn't say anything about 4 roomates only talked about 1, have to check on that... Shawn has a laptop but hasn't asked for it yet.in time I guess. He class hours kinda suck, 4-midnight, but he is just adjusting his schedule accordly.. Yeah, talked about his closet, cause I had asked what he could have-he said everything extra has to fit in that closet...Boys to men!!!!!! What building is Zack in? Shawn is in USS Enterprise.
Diane,
I was going to ask if he is in the Enterprise :)
My son is in the Enterprise and it is the oldest ship there. They only have 1 roomate vs 4, they also dont have fridge & microwaves in there rooms.
What rate is your son ? bacause it sounds like the same hours my son has for class.
My son is an EM ( electricians mate) But he said that MM, DC and another rate is in there with him.
Nice to finally meet someone in the Enterprise :)
he only has one roomate=I don't the rate but he is studying Engieering-Engieerman etc.. What is his name?? I will ask!
Colton
Has Shawn started A school yet or is he still in indoc ?
Hey molly, and Patty spoke to shawn, I believe well from what he said him and Colton are in class together, he said if they PIR together and are in the same ship they are in class together. One thing no one knows anyone by their first name, last names only, obviously -Berland{shawn's last name}
Shawn has been able to go fishing, one is favorite past times, in fact the chief said if they catch anything they can grill it up. Shawn seems to really love school right now!
I can confirm no mail call on Saturdays - although I have no idea why.
Thank yOU for confirming that. All this time we all believe that mail came 6 days..Well now we Know better. Thanks again!!!!:):)
