Pat--give him a hug for me. You enjoy every minute and report back on the best of the funny stories!
We're enjoying the second day of a 3 and 1/2 day visit with our son, here at home. It was a big surprise that he would be able to come, and an even bigger one that we found him an airline ticket at 11:30 Wednesday night, and we didn't have to mortgage the house again to pay for it! The second of two dinners with family is tomorrow....yes, the family is that large (aunt's uncles and cousins everywhere), and they have missed our sailor a lot, but not as much as this Mom.

Little things like rubbing his head while he naps and cooking for him are such joyous occasions....it's a REAL holiday for me this Labor Day.
Awww-head rubs. I like that.
Maybe that's a sailor thing - my daughter still will come sit at my feet or put her head in my lap just so she can get her head rubs : )
Thanks Catherine for the great picture. Happy Labor Day to you too. We're just kicking back this weekend getting ready to get rid of some junk at the house so we can also start a kitchen remodel. Craig wonders if will be done when his first hitch is up? Take care and be safe. Linda D-IA
howdy y'all! this Labor Day has us in Great Lakes for PIR - we are so blessed to spend time with our new sailor. We went to Gurnee Mills Friday and to Six Flags Great America yesterday and had a great time. Today, our new sailor is catching up on some rest which is also a beautiful sight. To those who have already graduated and for those yet to complete their BC, this is an experience you will never forget. Everyone stay safe and God Bless you and yours and all our military in all their endeavors. We'll be travelling back to North Carolina on Tuesday - everyone have a wonderful holiday!
glad you had special time together
congrats to the new sailor! happy to hear you are all enjoying the nice weather and good times! My son was grad n Go', but even with not much time , I remember the day VIVIDLY and with so much PRIDE!
Back at you! Great picture! We are having our traditional Labor Day, Lobster Bake here in R.I.It is a little bittersweet, cause we usually start out with the fireman's labor day breakfast at the local station which Marc is a big part of, but he doesn't like lobster, so that won't bother him, we will be missing him!
Have a wonderful Labor day everyone!!! We were lucky enough to have our sailor home for Thursday evening until this morning. He came to get his car. Our house was very busy while he was home, most of his friends were waiting for us when we returned from the airport Thursday night and spent the night, 6 extra guys. They all slept until noon and then hung out around the pool all afternoon. I spent lunch with 3 other Navy 4 mom's, we had a 2 hour lunch and had a great time.Friday night we took all the boys and our daughter,her husband and children out to sons favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner and they all came back to the house for the night. Yesterday we had a big cook out for all of our family and friends around the pool. This morning as my son and husband left for GL (2 hours later than planned ) I still had 2 extra boys sleeping in the living room. Now only one of our daughters and I are home and the house feels so quiet!! I miss him already. I will now have another thing to worry about with him having his car in GL. Wish we could of had some alone time with him but, I know his friends really miss him also.At least he and his dad will have that loooong car ride together.

I hope all of you stay safe from the storm, My prayers are with you all!!!
~~~~Happy thoughts sent your way! What a fun few days you had! Hope you got in a few hugs form mom!
wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy Labor day and be safe.
