For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A little PIR experience and the best hotel...
Just wanted to let everyone know that my stay at the Ramada was awesome! Their beds and pillows are the BEST! I slept better there than I do at home. It was really quiet, too. The meet and greet was nice, but I didn't "meet" anyone because we got there late. Stay away from the Saddle Ridge...way too expensive, but the food was pretty good, but not worth the price. The breakfast was okay...donuts, waffles, eggs, cereal, milk, coffee, juice... Free is always good in my opinion! lol My kids loved the pool and hot tub. The shuttle was a nice service too. We had to take the second shuttle and the drill hall was packed by the time we got there. We managed to squeeze in...
There is NOTHING to do in this town, but Gurnee is only 10 minutes away and there are many restaurants there and more to do. So, I didn't mind the small drive for a comfy hotel!
On a side note - we had 6 people with us. My kids were not on the list because he listed his dad and I and his Grandma and Grandpa. When we got up to the guest list, she said "They're not on the list?" and we said "No, they can't come with us???" And she said, "Oh, I think it'll be fine..." So, they didn't have to wait at all, they just came right with us.
Although they said to bring birth certificates with us if they didn' have government issued i.d., my kids only had to show their school i.d. and got right in, but it probably depends on who is at the gate, also.
When the ceremony starts, you CANNOT go to the bathroom, so plan ahead! AND, if you have to go to the bathroom before...it is a real pain in the butt! You have to make everyone get up to get out. That is the worst part!
My son had to go back to his barracks to get pics and a few other things, so to catch the shuttle back was "iffy"... We managed, but by the skin of our teeth. So keep that in mind when deciding on the shuttle or to drive. If you miss the shuttle then you have to get a taxi...not sure how much those are.

My kids are 14 and 17...you should ask FB RTC site.
