For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

No, as A school graduation is nothing like PIR. Not really worth attending in most cases. The classes are so much smaller, and the start dates vary a lot more as they must wait until there are enough students to class up. The 45 days are seat time, not including the hold time before, or even after if they must wait for orders.
I wouldn't bet on him being home for the wedding, but fingers crossed!

Sorry, there is no site that lists future graduation dates.
There is no way to predict the graduation date if you don't know when the class starts. Things don't come together until: 1) There are enough students to fill a classroom. 2) There is an open classroom and 3) There is an available training staff. Then training starts and you can begin counting 45 days. Then graduation. Then, possibly, waiting for orders. Frustrating when you are trying to make plans,
In the Navy things happen when they happen, not on a predictable schedule like boot camp. Welcome to the fleet!

Momof467 i was just reading that a school is about 9 weeks or 7 once he classes up (meaning started class) some recruits don't start classes right away it takes them up to two weeks to start. Hope it helps

Thanks kevsmom. Unfortunately he called me and told me that he wouldn't be graduating A school until July 6th which is 5 days after his brothers wedding so obviously he won't be able to make the wedding. its bitter sweet for me. As much as I was disappointed I am so proud of him and happy that he is happy. I'm looking forward to having him home for the 10 days before he goes to his next destination (not sure where as he hasn't gotten his orders yet). I'm so proud to be a sailors mom and proud of all these women and men.
