OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A school phases
I've heard the phases in A school have been done away with. It was you earned "privileges" after week 1, week 2 wearing civilian cloths,with week 3 being able to leave base or something along this line. So what's the progression now? My son is in Pensacola. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen things get changed.

Hi All...anyone with prior experience no what the possiblity of someone in A school getting leave to be bestman in his brothers wedding????? What are the odds??? We prepped both of our sons for the absense of the son that enlisted...he is currently in A school and the wedding is next weekend. Either right before or after he enlisted, he discussed this with the recruiter (of course, who has no bearing on the decision). He was told to request leave the moment he arrived at Aschool...which, I'm not so sure that that is possible. We have been praying against all possibility trusting that God could make away where there is NO WAY...Anyone that has any experience with this would be helpful if you shared...I would rather no one way or another...I think after BC being so fresh in my sons mind...he is not ready to ask thinking he may get chewed out???

A school students almost never get to take leave unless a parent, sibling or spouse dies. He can ask, via special request chit, but he should have asked a couple weeks ago. If he knows the rules, he may have already been told "no leave during training" which is why he may be reluctant to request leave. Which A school on which base? Is he on hold or already begun school? Is he in phase two liberty status? (phase one, forget it)

"A" School comes first. If he hasn't asked and it is next weekend that he is trying to take off, there really isn't much (enough) time to get the paper done for him to take leave. He can ask, but he needs to be ready for the answer to be no.

Hi All,
Thanks for sharing...yes, we knew for a death of immediate family. He text today after I posted...he was denied leave (which does not surprise us since he is still in A school). No, if he was told no leave...he defiantely wouldn't have asked and would have told us so before hand.. We've been told each school is different depending on those who in 'charge'. Yes, next week is short notice, but he just got there in the wee hours Monday -- Very disappointing, but expected.

Hello, we are in P-cola too. They have a phase system here. It goes something like they have liberty everyday until 10pm midnight on the weekends for the first two weeks, but they cannot leave base then they get phase two where yes they get to wear civi's and leave base but still have to be back at certain times everyday I believe that is two weeks also could be three, then phase three which my husband just got they get to spend the weekends with you, you pick them up when liberty is call on friday and they do not have to be back untill 10pm sunday unless they have duty. Now correy station is a little different the times in between are longer. Now if they get into trouble they may lose their phase card and have to start all over. That is what is going on now, but like others have said it can change at anytime!!!
