What would be a good recommendation for an inexpensive, clean, conveniently located hotel where I could stay and visit my daughter at her A School in Dam Neck, VA?

I have heard about the Gateway Inn & Suites on Regulus Ave. or the Navy Lodge on Regulus Ave.

Any preferences?  Any contact info for either?

Thank you,

Wendy Hickman

join the A school group if there is one...they should have some good suggestions.

Thank you that's a good suggestion.  Not sure how to find the A school group though.

Just thought that somone that had been to Dam Neck could advise me.

Wendy....I looked for the A school...what is she going for?

You are so nice to spend your time trying to help me.

My daughter is at Dam Neck for I.S.

Wendy,

The Gateway Inn & Suites are more along the lines of slightly nicer barracks that can be rented out (the do have hotel like services though). For the money, I would highly recommend the Navy lodge on base as it is right next to the beach. If you are looking to spend a little more money and would like some great views, Gateway Inn & Suites does offer cottages next to the beach for weekly rates... might be better option depending on situation. Here are some links.

Navy lodge - Non military family members may stay as long as service member is present at check in

Dan,

Thank you for trying to advise me as to accomodations.

I might be traveling with a friend who's husband is retired Navy, so she has a pass that can get her on to bases.

Will that help?  My daughter said that she could walk out and go through the gate and then ride back in with me.

I know that the Gateway Inn is not fancy, but it is very close to her barracks.  I really don't much care about being

close to the beach, because I live about a mile from the beach here in Florida.

Just close, inexpensive, and convenient.  That's for me.

Thank you once again for taking the time to help me out.
