Hi,

I have been waiting patiently to write my son but I have not received the post card they said he would send when he got there.  He left on July 6th, I got my 1 phone call but I just need and want to send him something to let him know I'm thinking about him.  So, is there a general address I can use to send him a letter or do I have to wait for the post card because I will need specific information....please help me, I miss my my son and I just need to make sure he ok, he only 17.   WhooooBoy, this is really hard for me.

Anyone can request me :) my sr left 7/6

I still have not received my letter but I did write him on Friday.  Just praying to real son his letter will come so that I can know when he is graduating so that I can plan my trip.  I am missing my son and when I just looking at the pic flashing on the front page, all I could do is cry.  I am no ways a crier but with my son going, it has turned me into one...LOL.

Thanks everyone for commenting and I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Hi brejones31, I know what you are going though. If your son left on the same day as my son, you should be getting your form letter soon. Their graduation will be on Thursday September 1. And if his school is on the base he will have liberty that day until that night. Also he will have liberty the whole weekend and Monday. But he would have to be back each night . I get my form letter on Friday. My son is in SHIP 12 DIV 285. Wish u all the best. DONT WORRY YOU WILL GET IT
Also they said it takes 5 to 10 days for the mail.

Well wouldn't you know, I RECIEVED MY FORM LETTER TODAY, Whaaaaaahooooooooooooo...I am so excited.  Yes, my son graduates on September 1st to Jaymom so I will see you there.  He is with SHIP 11 DIV 283.  The letter did not tell me what school he would be attending, how did you find that information out????? Also, thanks lemonelephant, I am joining that group right now.  Whaaaahoooo, he is well on his way and I'm soo happy for him.  I just purchased three cards and wrote a letter that I plan to send each day because his ending comments was, I HATE THIS PLACE so I gotta encourage him that its ok, there is an end to bootcamp and things will get better.

Again, thanks for your help...YOU ALL ROCK ! ! !

Ok, now I have to figure out what job rating he has.  Guess I'll call his recruiter tomorrow to find that out.  It may have been told to me but I forgot because from what I remember, he really didn't have a specific job title.

Hi Lemonelephant,

I have a question because you seems to be an expert on here, do you know where the cute little "survey" letters that you can print out and mail to your recruit with questions for them to answer is at on here???  I have a card I want to send my son today and would like to include the survey but I can't find it...please help if you can.  I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Hey brejones...I guess we wound up in separate groups because my son is Ship 11 div 284 and yours is 283, but I still check on ya.  I'm glad you got your real letter.  I got mine yesterday and was so happy to see that little "hostage handwriting" lol.  That's what my daughter and I say it looks like!  Just little tiny printed letters.  Aaron says the food is horrible and that he can't wait for me to fix him something "good" YAY me! lol.  He also said that their group is having to do alot of "IT" because some people can't keep there mouths shut (not sure what that's all about) and from what I understand that means "intensive training" and I'm not sure what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's not good.  He said he got six shots and 1 was in the arse and that one and the flu shot hurt like hell...But then at the end he says, Don't worry, it's all good...WOW that surprised me.  At the very very end he said, "well gotta go organize my rack and shine my boots"...ok all I can say is "WHO is this child!"  After just 2 weeks..I can't imagine what they'll have turned him into by 9-1!  Well, you hang in there brejones! And I'll be praying for your son!  If it's any conselation, I've been reading on here to tell them that it gets better by the 4th or 5th week!  We all have to hang in there for them and for each other! xoxo
IT is "intensive training" as you say.  It's extra push ups or whatever extra physical exercise the RDC decides to give.  It occurs when a Recruit, Recruits, or Division need/s an extra reminder of what is the Navy way to do things.

Austinsmom,

Look at the dates on the postings in this discussion.

Well? I'm hoping you have an address by now!!! I know how you must be feeling! My hear aches sooo bad I can't stand it! All I do is cry! He just left yesterday!!! God help me! How will I survive this??? Please tell me it gets better!

hey magnoliagirl, thats great that you're hearing from your son! I bet that makes all the difference doesn't it? Oh I can't wait till I start getting letters! I write him evryday and am just saving them up until I have an address which should be soon :) Great pic of you and your son!!!!
