While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Advice Needed About the Future for me and my Sailor
Hi everyone! I'm new here, and I thought I would join because there seem to be some very knowledgeable people on this site.
Anyways, my boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years, and are very close. We have lived together the whole time and spend almost every day together. His father and grandfather were on subs, and thats been his lifelong goal. After a lot of decision making he signed up, and is leaving in October for boot camp, and then he's going to school in Groton, CT. His MS is Logistics Specialist. I'm sure I'll have a million questions in the future, but I have one big one now. I'm moving back in with his mom while he's gone, but how long will he be gone for? He's active, and will be hopping on a sub at some point, so I know he'll be gone for a while. I'm trying to figure out if I should get an apartment with a friend for a while, or if it won't be that long? I'm pretty sure I won't be moving to where ever he is until he gets stationed somewhere, but I dont know how far in the future that is, and i definitely will not be living on base with him.
So about how long will he be gone for before he's back for any substantial amount of time (say like a week or so). Am I looking at a year solid without him? 2? Thanks in advance!

Knittycat - This is a weird question, but in today's lifestyle I need to ask:
Do you have any children with your BF? If you do, then he can receive BAQ to support his child. He would be able to live off base with his dependent (the child) also. You don't need to be married to him. He just needs to show he has a dependent and is required to house that dependent.

He's leaving October 2nd? He was supposed to go the 9th but they moved his date up a week.
Thanks so much for that little layout Emma, that's exactly what I wanted to see, and he can't seem to give me a straight answer (he's not very attentive to detail, that's gonna change soon!). I wasn't even aware that he could live off base at some point, so thats pretty cool. My plan if I were to move near where his base was just to be closer to him so we could see each other more often than if I stayed in MA and he moved to say Hawaii or something.
And no we don't have any kids, and are definitely not planning on having any soon.
