OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello my name is Jackie,
My hubby just left went into boot camp til around february. Im concerned because he's far away from me and im wondering when he enters A school if ill be able to move near him and will housing pay for me.

Hey Jackie. My name is Alicia. My husband just left BC as well and will be done in Feb. too. My daughter and I are planning on moving where his A school is. He's going into Submarine Electronic Computer Field (SECF) and his schooling is going to be over a year long and going to be in Groton, CT. It depends what field your husband is in b/c his schooling could be long or short. I heard that their A school has to be at least 22 weeks long for spouses to move, so it depends really.
I noticed you live in Temple, TX. I live in Grand Prairie, TX. Hopefully we'll see each other during their PIR. I'm glad I found you and know we are not alone in this. :)

Hi Alicia, yes hopefully i will get to meet you my husband has family in grand prairie! I havent got any information yet but i do know he is going to A school for Corpsman and he said it was at least 4 months long but i dont know where his schooling will be though.

Do you have his information that he signed about the Corpsman job? I know when my husband got his SECF paper that explains what the job is about, it shows the schooling is and where its at and how long it is

No idea yet, plus we havent got our first check yet either! Thats why im starting to get alil worried i got the arrival call but thats all too. I do thank you for the information though. :)

My husbnd's recruiter said to be expecting the paychecks on Jan. 1st. Hopefully that will go for you too.

It takes a while for all their info to get into the system so the first paycheck may be up to a month late, but they get paid from day 1 in boot camp so the first check is larger........but then they take a chunk out for uniforms etc. They get paid on the 1st and the 15th. of the month. I think corpsmen stay in Great Lakes (the other side of the base from boot camp) for A school but I may be wrong.

I suggest finding the corpsman group on this site. I'm sure some of the other wives who have been through this before are there and can give you good answers.
BAH takes a little while to kick in, so you might not see it in the first couple of checks.
They really don't take uniform money out of their checks, but they do take what the sailor needs to spend when they get there, personal items from the NEX (soap, etc) and such. They can't take their own for security reasons, you wouldn't believe what people try to bring to boot camp! The uniform allowance goes in, and then it comes out. Uniforms do not come out of their base pay.
