HI,

These forum discussions fill up quickly and seem to include a lot of different arrival dates.  Does anyone have a recruit who started basic training on December 7?  I still haven't received the box or a letter, so if you have any information about graduation dates, etc. that would be nice.

My husband did..I miss him very much..I have received his clothes, but when he called he did let me know they can't get mail for 2 weeks and calls for 3.. Other than that I haven't heard much back, keeping my fingers crossed and my head perked up.

Yeah!, I did get the letter yesterday.  I'm excited that I can now send the letters I've been writing.  Still haven't received the box of stuff yet.  He wrote a few lines on  back of the form letter just to let me know it was hard, but he'd be okay.

My son left and went to Meps on the 7th.. Then flew to camp on the 8th.

It's easier when I don't think about it.  As soon as I think about how long he will be gone and the fact that he'll never be one of my  living-at-home kids...I just can't believe how quickly the time went.  It's too sad and I tear up.  I do have several other kids still at home, but since time goes so quickly...I'd better just appreciate the time I have with the kids I still have at home.

He is my only child. I know this is exactly what he needs. He has tremendous potential but he needs somebody to teach him some self discipline. He recognizes this so that's why he's doing it! I was really emotional the first few days but I feel calmer now. My husband travels constantly in fact he was gone when Nick left. He is coming home from France tonight! He had a hard time being gone when Nick left. Yes, appreciate them! I'm going to go with my husband to Indiana on Sunday just to get out of this house! I will only have 2 days to get the house cleaned and food cooked before everyone comes for Christmas dinner but I need to do this. We are entering our next phase of life! Just the two of us!

I feel sad for you....I am going to hate that phase!!! My youngest is 6 years old, so luckily I still have at least 12 years before that happens.  Sometimes I miss the days when I ddin't have so many people depending on me, and when I ddin't have to clean up after anyone but myself, but when I start thinking that way, I just think about how sad it will be when all the kids are grown and gone, and how much I will miss them and all the messes they make.  I probably won't miss the messes, but it's a small price to pay for being surrounded by my family.  It will be so boring to be alone after that (except my husband).

My SR arrived on the 7th of Dec.  He is on ShipI 07 DIV 059.  got a form  letter with address and a brief note and shared it with his church and girl friend.  There was a post in the PIR forum that reccomended a manilla folder to return excess letters.   I still cannot open his box and is hard to go in his room.  But I am thinking about it more often so maye I am almost ready.  My SR note said the same type stuff.

Good Morning CB s Mom, our son's are in the same Ship and Div. I understand about the box and his room I sleep with his shirt that he wore the day before he left.  Hang in there I know its hard, what keeps me going is the thoughts of day he graduates and how proud we will be and how good he will feel knowing he got through it. We are truly Blessed to have son's and daughter's that have chosen a career that has such great meaning, too protect our great country U.S.A.  GO NAVY!!!

Good afternoon MMT Ship 07 DIV 059.  We got our first letter!!! I am still crying with joy.  I did not think it would effect me this way.  I am so proud of him.  He already sounds so strong.  He said he really enjoys having his name sewn on his new uniform!.  He has his bed making down to 9 minutes!  9 minutes!  I cracked up!  He knows I am laughing at that.  Said his RDC drops the "F" bomb frequently when giving instruction but will take it if it will help him improve his division and personal skill level.he asked for more stamps as well. So I will send more.  He will get some in the next few letters but I don't want any hindrance is getting more letters.  He also have been given a job as recruit chaplin.  Right up  his alley!

Hi My daughter left 12/7, I just recieved a letter from her yesterday. I hope you recieved one as well. She states that although they are tough, she is doing very well. I hope that you hear the same great news. Graduation should be Feb 10. I hope you get the information. GOd Bless

In Indiana, so don't know if I have the letter yet! Going with my husband was exactly what I needed to do. My son isn't in division 059. I have the address upstairs. I am using the computer in the hotel lobby. I think he's in division 066. I'll check when I go upstairs. I have sent him 3 letters. I got his address a few days after he left from his recruiter. thank you everyone for the input! I want to say ship 11. Let's see if I remembered correctly!

I'm surprised no one has referred you to the Leaving for Bootcamp in December group, or your PIR group. You can find them at:
