Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I found the box on my front porch when I came home yesterday. It just had his stinky clothes (we live in Texas and it has been 100* lately) and his cell phone. I looked in his pockets and shoes for any info but did not find any. I want to send him a pre-paid phone card, when i get his address so he will be able to call me. I dont want to get him in trouble. Any ideas from other Moms?.................

I found a website that gives recruits in Boot Camp free phone cards to call home. The cards are for a 20 minute call. They only ask that the recruit give some of them away so that other recruits may call home that don't have a calling card. You can email CallsforRecruits@gmail.com. I am sending mine out as soon as I get my sons address. He arrived at BC on the 17th. I have already received the box so I am now awaiting the form letter. It seems like it is taking forever but I know that I will eventually receive it. Don't worry about getting him in trouble. As long as you don't send anything sparkly,glittery or cutesy then it will be fine. Hope this helps. I know I have been searching the internet for 3 days now trying to find all the information I can on steps to take, what he can and can not have, etc.

The Box:
...of smelly clothes! LOL
If your SR (Seaman Recruit) took their cellphone with them it will be returned in the box...look in the pants pockets and the shoes if you don't see it outright. Often times it will be taken apart and stuffed into the toes of the shoes.
If you're wondering why one or both pants legs are rolled up...it's because they get their feet measured and they have no time to roll them back down (they're gonna take 'em off anyways!)

samuel: I keep saying my boy is too young...his dad keeps reminding me our son is a man..he can handle this. He did not rush in. He was prepared via recruiter. He will be fine....and I"m sure your daughter will be also be fine. I was surprised how many mom's posted their child would be 18 while attending boot camp.....so she is apparently with a great group of people going through the same thing. Hang in there...

My son left Richmond, Va on the 17th. We received call at 10pm that he made it there. The box came on Friday. Now we are waiting patiently for a call or letter.
