OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

BC Graduation 09/14/2012 (Ship 12 Div 296) CS Sailor A School 10/01/212
Hello,
I'm looking for families who has a sailor that graduated on September 14 or who was on Ship 12 Div 296 or who's in Fort Lee A School? my sailor started on October 1st.
If so please add me as your friend and lets share and support one another. I've talk to my sailor mostly every night and she loves A School. She said VA is really nice\well the weather compare to GL. Her goal is to be station in Japan. She's my only child and this was her decision to help with her education, travel and service her country. she's in my prayers day and night and throughtout the day. We were really close and never been apart this long before. she's 18 years old and I can say one think when I seen her at graduation, she has changed alot...lol for the good 8-)
How did you handle your child going off to the Navy and being away? ):

You can connect with others who had Sailors who graduated on September 14 and had a Sailor in Division 296 in the Alumni of PIR 09/14/2012: A global force of TazNavyan Momsters! group. There may be others with loved ones training with your Sailor in the group, CS (Culinary Specialist) Moms.
Stay busy and perhaps take up a new hobby so you have something to talk about when you hear from your Sailor and get used to the new normal. Skype, fB, and phone calls become the ways to stay in contact. She will most likely be home soon for a short leave before heading to her first duty station. Make memories together and be pleased with the wonderful young person and amazing Sailor she is becoming.

I will look into the Alumni of PIR group. I was so excited to hear from her yesterday, she cut and made chicken savory and fried and she was sharing how pretty and good it was..lol
Yes I've started my own business which has kept me pretty busy and meeting different people. Also, I've share with my sailor about my new business and she was happy for me and my husband. Also, we have gotten with a few couple from our church and we have couple bowling night which has been fun.
She text me alot, I guess I'll take that. but would like to hear her voice once in a while, it maybe hard on her so I'll take a text instead of a phone call or Skype. Maybe she'll start calling and skyping once she's station.
Question she'll be finish on November 2, would she come home on that day and how long? 10 days I heard or if she works with her recuiter office at home she gets extended time. Not sure how true this is and I know how things change alot.

You are very welcome.
She puts in a leave chit and then makes the transportation plans in conjunction with the Navy. She has to pay for her transportation home and her orders will indicate whether she has to return to her "A" School or go straight to her duty station from home and that could change while she is on leave. The Navy will pay for the transportation to the first duty station, but not to the place of her leave. She will only have about 10 days. If she does RAP duty with her recruiter and the recruiter signs off, then after she gets to her first duty station, she will turn in the form and she will be credited with 5 days of leave to use at a later time.

Oh ok,
she has already spoken with her recruiter back home and he told her before she left that she can do RAP. I think she's thinking that she will have extend time for this time while she's on leave. But it's good to know that she's will be credit for the next time she's on leave. Also, It's hard to schedule around her schedule, my husband and I going to Indiana for Thanksgiving break.(already purchase our tickets) We're leaving on the 16th of Nov, my sailor graduates A School on the 2nd. We wants to be home when she come and if all works out. Do they usually get to leave that day after graduation? just trying to count the days we will have and if she's only will be home for 10 days, and come home after graduating A school then she will leave out for her station around the 11th or 12th. This would be prefect. But sad also, not able to spend Thanksgiving with us. Which I may just have an early Thanksgiving with our family in Texas. 8-)

Most of the time the Sailor will depart for leave on the day of graduation or within a day or 2. Sometimes there is a delay in getting orders and the Sailor cannot leave until the orders are cut and so the Sailor is in Holding.

I talk to my daughter on Saturday and she graduates on Friday November 2nd but said she's not sure when she will get to come home. she said that she will be on hold, hopefully only a day or two..and they cut her orders.

I hope that she gets to go home when you wanted her to so you can spend time together before you leave for Thanksgiving.
