Wow, what a memory that will be!  Congratulations to you and your family.  Go to the leaving in June group at http://www.navyformoms.com/group/leavinforbootcampinjune and they will walk this path with you.  You can expect a VERY short phone call the night they get to Great Lakes.  3-7 days later, you will receive all of his items in a box (a.k.a. The Kid in the Box -- Later you will see the Man he has become).  A few days after you get The Box, you will receive a form letter with a few lines written on the bottom.  DON'T lose that letter!  It has your password and other info required for getting you in for PIR.  It will also give you his address and graduation date.  Then, join the PIR group and the ship/div group where you can share good and bad news during these next months.  Roughly 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks into BC, you will receive your first real letter.  Sometime around week 3-4, you will get your first phone call (occasionally they come earlier).  Good luck.  Mine has been gone just shy of 3 weeks and the first week is really tough, but it does get easier.  Read, read, read on the Groups!  You'll learn a ton!
