For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April, to connect with others with loved ones who left yesteday and may have PIR together.
You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.

Hi my son arrived at boot camp on 4/24. He was supposed to arrive on 4/23 but was delayed due to weather and mechanical problems with flight.

My husband left for boot camp on 4/24/13 and I haven't heard from him since, dose anyone know when they get to make their first phon call??

DId you receive the "I'm here!" call? If not, you MAY hear from him this weekend because he MAY be able to make a make up call. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

No I did not get the "I'm here" and I am worried sick. I hope I get it this weekend I will keep my phone on me at all times. Thank you :) lemonelephant

You are very welcome. I'm sorry that he was unable to make that "I'm here!" call for some reason. Remember, "No news is good news!" even this early; he is fine or you would hear and that is not a call you want to get. Calls while in P-days can come anytime between 6 am and 10 pm CST even on Sunday. Once he is out of P-days next week calls will come between 8 am and 8 pm CST, but NOT between 7 am and 1 pm CST on a day of PIR (usually Friday) or on Sunday.

Michelle, My son arrived at boot camp on 4/24/13. I got the "Im here" call around 10 PM that night. Did your husband have his cell phone with him? I hear there are no phone banks for calls now if you do not have cell phone. I would love to get a phone call this weekend but am not expecting it. Please keep in touch. Let me know what you hear and I will do the same.

Since you got the "I'm here!" call, it is unlikely that you will get a call. Michelle MAY get a make up call since she didn't get the "I'm here!" call. You are correct; there are no longer any phone banks at Camp Moffet.

Hello Navy moms and wives, My son arrived at BC on 04/23 and I got the "I made it" phone call around midnight and I haven't heard anything since than. I guess no news is good news.

Soproud my husband shipped out for BC on 4/23 too I got the phone call that night at midnight I haven't heard anything yet either And so far I have heard that no news is good news !From what I read they are still on p days which is processing days where they do all their paperwork and do all the medical exams and stuff like that . Some say p days last 4 to 5 days or something but yea I am still waiting for the box and form letter too

Hi mainewife, Yeah, I'm thinking my son will be on his permanent ship on Tuesday. I've been writing him letters almost everyday because I miss him terribly. I just finished writing one. I'm sure they already got their peanut butter shots and I hope it didn't knot up on them. I heard it hurts pretty bad.

Yea I have wrote a few letters all ready . The wait is killing me but I think once I start getting letters from him and the form stuff and box I will feel a little better know its all going smoothly
