For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

ummm If he left this past Monday he can't PIR on June 2nd...if you mean Aug 2nd, that is possible.
You won't know when he PIR for sure until he sends the letter to whomever he is going to send it to with his address and PIR dates

Yes, you are correct that by counting 9 Fridays, 08/02/2013 is the most likely PIR date, but since he arrived on a Monday, it could also be 07/26/2013 if he filled a division from the TG from the week before and is in a Push Division. You will just have to wait until someone receives the form letter to know for sure. He will not know his PIR date until he fills out the form letter at the end of P-days. Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in June, to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. You may also want to join Girlfriends, Fiances,and Wives of Sailors.

Thanks for all the info it's really helpful! His recruiter sent me an email today with his address and slated PIR date and said that the only way it would change is if it moved later because something caused a delay. Hopefully his info is accurate because I need to reschedule a flight if its not!

The info the recruiter has as far as the PIR date is most likely correct if it is either 07/26/2013 or 08/02/2013; recruiters have mistakenly given the projected date of departure from the RTC as the PIR date and that is correct for those going to "A" School inn GL, but not for those who fly out. Remember not to mail letters though until someone receives the form letter. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit for more on that.
