For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son goes to MEPS Tuesday the 15th. Monday night in the hotel so tomorrow night is his last full night at home...I'm so sad yet so proud of him!!!

My son leaves for boot camp on July 16th. My last day with him is Tuesday the 15th. I find I can't think of anything else. My husband is out of town with my 2 step kids on a family vacation and I am starting a new job on Monday the 14th. My new boss was kind enough to give me Tuesday off to be with my son. It is just so much going on at once. I am feeling so overwhelmed. His older brother just graduated from the police academy 2 weeks ago and started riding solo so my worries are scattered in multiple directions. Sleep is nearly impossible. Does it get better once they get settled in? Sometimes I think it is the anticipation of his departure that is most agonizing.

My first weekend as an emptynester. What a whirlwind it has been. Emotions on a roller coaster for sure. Shopped at the groc store for 1 for the first time in 20 years. Reality sets in more and more as the days go by. Knowing he is in a safe place being well taken care of helps for sure. Having been the 1 to always make sure he has food, clothes, gas and money since graduating HS I totally feel like I have gained some ME time (not selfish I hope) ... Yesterday was his girlfriends birthday so we spent some time together shopping. She wanted the hoodie w/ 'my boyfriend is a sailor' on it so we ordered that. Today I will work a little and spend some time w/ my 3 month old grand daughter. Just going to keep busy and be all I can be for them all. Have a great day ALL and thank you and them for your service!!

My son leaves tomorrow Monday 7/14/14. He will leave our town headed to Memphis where he will do MEPS then next day fly out to Great Lakes. So many mixed emotions. Everything has happened so fast the time just keeps flying by!

My son leaves on the 21st. We have been counting down to this day since October. Its hard to believe that the day is quickly coming upon us and my heart is broken. But I know he will be ok and this will make him a stronger, better men then he already is. We are so proud of him.

We are getting ready to take my son to the hotel, then on to Great Lakes tomorrow, can't wait to catch up with all of you when we find out our PIR date. Seatbelt on, not sure I am ready for this!
