Ask the recruiter or look online about the paygrade. Soon after he goes to bootcamp you'll find out when he graduates.bout ten days...a letter will tell you. Im assuming like most everyone else he will goto his A school which is where he'll learn to do the nuke stuff..he should know where that is already. I think you can follow him to Aschool and live in the town...My son and I are just going to visit him a couple times but stay home until he gets stationed.
I heard it takes 3 weeks..Im counting on that because this friday will be 3 weeks for my husband..

Personnel selected for nuclear training enter the Navy in paygrade E-3. Accelerated advancement to paygrade E-4 is authorized after personnel complete all advancement-in-rate requirements (to include minimum time in rate) and “A” School, provided eligibility in the NF Program is maintained.

Dear Navywife_Nuke,

I see you have initiated 3 discussions. A number of responses have been posted. Have you clicked on the links provided to see the information available on the internet regarding life as a navy nuke.  Your husband is going to boot camp in January. The nuke program is long, tough and arduous. He'll need all the support he can get. If you click the MY PAGE tab on the menu bar, you'll be directed to your own personal page. Now, scroll down, you'll find a number of postings on your comment wall. The postings contain links to Navy For Moms groups which you should be joining - such as Boot Camp Moms, Deppers leaving in January, group for Wives, Fiancees and GFs. Then later on, you should join the Nuke Moms group (for dads, wives, etc too).  There is also a link to the Survival Guide, here you will find information and links to videos, the official Recruit Training Command site.

You'll need to step it up real soon. So get a binder or a bunch of files. You need to start creating a system for information that you'll gather.  The running of the household will be overwhelming if you don't start getting things in order.  Do ask your husband to ask the recruiter for any information they they have on hand.  I hope his family and your family will step up and give you the support you'll need. Good luck.
