My son left for bootcamp on Wednesday and I've been crying off and on ever since.  I feel so lost not beling able to call him, FB him or contact hm in any way.  I never thought it would be this difficult.  I'm really struggling. I'm not worried about his safety, just feel so disconnected, like he's gone forever.  He is my firstborn too, maybe that's it?   I don't know, but he reached this milestone that I feel like I wasn't prepared for.  Anyone else feel like that?

freese, start writing your letters to your SR, even without the address. No point in harrassing the recruiter as your info will come when it comes. Just writing the letters will make you feel better. Just remember to number them on the envelope as you go along. You can always send them all at once when you get the address. Hang in there, it gets easier.

Concernedad,

Thats a great idea, Thats what I will do.........

I just received my Son in a box!!!!!!!! Made me feel a little better......

And I only called recruiter the once cuz if my son knew I called him anymore than that he would have my head!!!   LOL

           Thanks for the support................

I took your advice have been writing letters and numbering and was good for the mind...I got my sons ship 02/ div 922 yestarday.... So I can send the letters I have been writing.

I have been reading all the posts and have to say thank you to everyone.  My youngest child leaves March 13th for Great Lakes and I have been staying positive and proud, but I know a large part of my heart is leaving.  I am very proud to be a Navy Parent !!!

Well everyone it came......... I got my letter (8 sentences) but it was great.... My son really knows me and still has his sence of humor so far... "Mom,1st of letters for a few weeks so DONT FREAK OUT...." LOL said that as of 21st he was still in Pdays, Ship 02/Div 922 which I found by reading is a performing group.........So proud of him already, Cant wait for next letter or phone call...

Hi Freese71,

Did your son leave from Sacramento? I'm looking for mom's from the Sac. area that have sons with my son.

Just wondering.

Rose

No Rose we are from NY... Sorry opposite side of country...

I have felt the same way.  My son is the first and only child.  He has been at bootcamp for 3 weeks this Wed. and I havent heard anything yet.  I want to call someone so I can get an address to write him.

Did you get the Box with everything he had on the day he left? And you should get you Info letter any day of you haven't already, that gives you his ship and Div and Date for graduation.... My son is my 1st and only boy (20), I do have a.14 yr old daughter also..

I'm in the same boat..my son leaves Mar ..my nerves are out of control.  I'm sure this will pass. Your son I guess is finished??Maybe you can give me pointers
