Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Bootcamp is 7-9 weeks depending when they get there. "get his phone back" they do not get to keep their cell phones they mail those home, you can bring it for him to PIR and either give it to him at the airport or when he moves to the "A" School base.

Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbies (clickable link)
In the guide, you'll find links to videos of every step at bootcamp. You'll also links to the RTC, Graduation Streaming, RTC Family Guide. If you scroll to Page 9, you'll find a week by week description. If you have received your form letter, you should join the Navy For Moms PIR group associated with your son/daughter's PIR date. The PIR Information Reference group has lots of good info for those planning a trip.

If you follow all the links and read everything. Many of your questions will be answered. The RTC Family should be printed out for quick reference. Be sure to save the form letter, at least save your password on your cell phone, hard drive, etc. Keep a binder. Good luck.
