Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

We don't know yet, I guess I will find out if he is a grad and go, then he probably won't be there for the birth, he will go straight to Pensacola for SAR school, but mentally I am preparing for him not to be there anyway....and if he does happen to be there it will be a wonderful surprise....

My son arrived in GL on 6/10/2010. He had a disposable cell phone so he called when he got to the airport in Chicago. It was good to hear his voice and he did sound tired but had a long lay over in Atlanta. Anyway, I have also recieved the dreaded "box". Wow, it was weird, all his stufff but not him...ugh!!!! Some days are better than others but the nights are the worse. I have such a hard time sleeping. I know he is safe and well cared for but it is just strange not having him here. I dont know, my kids have always lived either with me or in the same town as me and to have one not here is just plain unnerving. Now I realize how my mom must have felt when I joined the Army and left home. I was the youngest of 9 kids and the only one to ever live the comfort of our home town. Fast forward a couple of decades or so and I set in the same spot. My youngest has joined the Navy and I am at home worried about him. UGHHHHH!!!!! I sure it will be better once I get a letter or phone call from him. Just feeling a bit blue today becuase I thought they would let the recuits call home for fathers day but NOT. Anyway, just blubbering here, thanks for listening.

I could have written your letter becasue everything you are feeling so am I. My son is in Ship 12 Div 261 and I just want to hear his voice and know that he is doing okay. Hang in there and know you are not alone, there are plenty of Moms who totally understand exactly how you feel!.

I know it is hard for all of us and that is why we are here. I am so gald that they have this web site and all the mom/bf/gf and so forth are so helpful. I got the form letter today in the mail, he left a cute note on the bottom, God Love him, I so needed that. My doctor is unsure of weather or not I will be able to travel at the time of my sons graduation or PIR but I am being hard headed and so want to go. I want him to know that I support him, love him and I am so proud of him. Blubber again....oops.
