Which graduation is more important to attend for my daughter? We live in Arizona and flights to Chicago, for bootcamp, and Florida, for A School, are about $500 per person; plus hotal and car. It looks like we will only be able to attend one (I hope). Which is more important to the recruits? I have yet to hear from her, so I can't ask. Thank you.
without a doubt Bootcamp, its something you will want to be there for. My sailor didnt even want me to go to her completion of A school, its really for the sailors, nothing like bootcamp PIR. When my sailor did A school graduation she left the base within 4 hours and was on her way home for her first leave.
Hello Kathy. When your sailor went to A school was there a delay before she got started? My SR will go to Pensacola for AO as well. We want to get an idea of when our son will finally come home for his first leave. He's a 3/16/12 PIR.
Boot camp PIR is the absolute best. "A" schools doesn't have the 100's of families cheering them on.
You will really regret not going to the PIR....
I would have to say boot camp. They've been away for 9 weeks, and gone through so many ups and downs. I think it's important to have family there to cheer them on. After A school, they normally come home for a short time before getting their assignement.
Bootcamp PIR it is! Thank you all!
P.I.R. P.I.R. P.I.R. just ask another mom/wife/gf to take photos of A school graduation.
