Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm not sure of the lingo but if you're asking what he's going in for, it's Computer Electronics Technician on subs. It wasn't his first choice but he decided he'd try it. We're from south Mississippi. I keep thinking about him leaving; his first time on an airplane, first time completely away from family, first time with no form of communication...(I'm sure the last one with make him ecstatic but it's making me a nervous wreck!) lol I'm so happy that his recruiter told me about this site. It sure is making everything easier to digest. There's so much great information here. I haven't really made any friends on here yet but it's time I start. I think I will need a lot of support as the time gets closer. Thanks for the welcome!!

Proud Na V Mom - Yes - we all know what you are feeling - and there is a lot of information on here - don't get too overwhelmed! I am from Southern Indiana and my son is going in as a CTN. You will make a lot of great friends here - please be sure to join in any time to ask questions or just vent. This is truly an emotional roller coaster ride. My son is leaving in 15 days and I have been a mess. I try to stay strong around him but inside I am falling apart! I am soooo proud of him and soooo excited for him but the mom in me is breaking apart. So, I just tend to pray a lot! so... again Welcome Aboard!!

My daughter is leaving for boot camp on March 28th as well. And the time is certainly getting here pretty quickly. There is so much information on here and it is very helpful. I'm still trying to figure my way through the site and this is the first time I've actually written.

thanks forever mom!! I enjoy seeing the days fill up! They will be here gone before we know it! Figure I will keep it going and change it to PIR dates when we get the info!! I thought about moving it to the boot camp site but don't know if I could keep up with that many people!! LOL!!

Thank you so much. This site has been my crutch the past few days as I struggle to maintain balance. So good to be with people who relate to how shaken I've become. All I keep hearing is "he'll be fine". And well, I know that...I think at this point I'm more worried about MOM being fine. :) Lost my grandmother (who was more like a mother to me in reality) in November, and now this...very overwhelming to say the least. Not like college where they come home for months at a time. I never prepared myself for this, I thought I'd have a few more years before Nik flew the coop. The grief is crippling at times. I keep a brave face and a sense of humor for him, knowing that he needs all the support possible, and the best thing I can give my son now is a positive outlook, focusing on all the good that will come his way. But my heart is just breaking. One day at a time, and breathe. That's it. :)
