The site is down through midnight tonight. It will be up again tomorrow to print a gate pass.

I know these entries are a little old ... but following the recommendations have made aquiring the parking pass very easy.  I have been greatly stregnthened by the comments of other moms who have blazed a trail through the paperwork and computure problems.  I am an older mother of a young recruit, and just want to mention how proud of her I am.  My father was a Pearl Harbor survivor, and I know he is watching over her and beaming with admiration for her.  God bless all our sons and daughters with courage, health, and peace of mind, as well as thier families through this holiday season and the coming new year.

The Great thing about the Navy For Moms website it that it creates an eternal bond..my daughter graduated BC Aug 6th..our PIR website is still going strong..we all check in from time to time, still sharing laughs, tears, virtual hugs...my daughter is in Dam Neck on hold for "C" school..we are all here for you if you have any questions....hooyah!!

  1. You are on this site, so you can tell your RC that you are social networking. :)
  2. Don't let your age stop you from doing anything. My sister is 68. She just signed up to get her PhD. So, if you didn't get the chance to finish your college degree, go for it. I am 61. I am as internet savvy as any of those young whipper-snappers. I learn something new everyday.
  3. Being technically proficient with using the computer will make communicating with your sons/daughter, grandson/daughters that much easier in the future. Technology is not moving backwards.

Good luck, Barbara.

I'm also having the same problem

PASSWORD FOR PRINTING THE PARKING PASS
Keep that letter containing the password for printing the parking pass. If you are using MS Internet Explorer, you may encounter a program. Download Mozilla Firefox (it's free) and try again. Remember to save your password (in case you lose your pass and have to print another one). Better yet, once you are online, print multiple copies to take with you. I know a mom who gots hers laminated (just in case the kid brother spills coke on it.

PIR - DVD, PHOTOS and BOUND ALBUM
Stay in touch with your recruit during BC about ordering the dvd and photos. He/she will have an opportunity to order these before PIR. If he/she forgets, you can go to the EXCHANGE and order them yourself when you are there for PIR. Additionally, you can call and request an order form be faxed to you at anytime. NO email requests. BTW, there is a bound photo album that is beautiful – don’t know the cost.
