My fiance is in class 14-10. I got to talk to him for about 5 minutes last night and he's already lost his voice! They have to yell everything at the top of their lungs! I'm in the Navy also and I'm so used to being the one who leaves! I'm the one who has to tell everyone else not to worry, so its really weird being on the other side of it!

That makes a lot of sense to me too. Our wedding is June 5th so I think dress whites are the winner. Thanks for the input!
Haha, ya that's true. We don't know many officers yet though unless he makes several new friends at OCS. Good to think about though.
Dress blues are authorized anytime of the year. It is the only uniform authorized no matter time or location. Not sure about the regs for the new working uniforms.
the new working uniforms are all year also. It's nice not to have to change every 6 months!
As far as getting from the airport to base if you aren't going to rent a car you can take the cozy cab shuttle. It is $25 per person each way but compared to a 80 dollar cab it isn't too bad. They leave from the airport every hour and it is about a 30 minute ride to newport then you can take a cab to base which is only about 6 dollars. You can google cozy cab newport for the website.
CONGRATS Tawny!!!! I'm so happy for you!

Anybody else get any calls today???
If things go as in the past they won't be getting any mail for awhile later in week two or into week three. Keep sending the letters though as when they do get mail it is like Christmas and they are so thrilled!
No call :( I was working hard to not get my hopes up though, so I think that helped!
Was last week the longest week ever for anyone other than me!?
Ahhh! YES! It was soooo long. Today seemed like a really long day, but I am hoping this week will be better. Maybe they will get their mail soon!!
Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe you got a letter!! That is great! I thought they weren't going to get mail until later. Did he say when they would get mail?
Yes! I had the same discussion with my husband this morning. He said if it feels long for us, what does it feel like to our LO's? Trying to keep busy to pass the time. Have several projects going on but we both race to the phone every time it rings.
