Hi, My daughter is also graduating on 9/6/13. We are so exited!!

Awesome. We R.S.V.P.'d to be at Sundance Saloon for the meet and greet, we should meet up there.

That is our date as well.  Trying to figure out the timing and logistics of getting there has been a trial.

Same here. The flights are so expensive especially because they want you to get a refundable ticket but I found that it is cheaper to just get the lowest fare and the Insurance. I called most of the Travel Insurance companies and they will change or pay the difference of the flight if the dates change for any reason when they are military. Most cases it was only an additional $11-$13 per person rather than paying an extra $200 per ticket.  Also, I found really cheap hotel rooms at The Navy Lodge and Quality Inn in Waukegan. Hope that helps.

Hi, I will rsvp too. I look forward to seeing you there! 43 days and counting! My daughter is on ship 11 div 340. We will arrive on 9-5. Her A school is in the Great Lakes so we will spend the weekend there with her. We are so exited!!! :)

Hello, my son too graduates 9.6.2013. I am so excited and I cant wait to see him. We are very close that since he been gone, I been a complete MESS  :(  I got his 1st call last Saturday 9.20.2013 and I was so so HAPPY. I dont' know about any of you, but he stated he does not like it there, hates it and wants to come home.. That killed me....... I am raised MIlitary as my father was Military. I knew it was going to be hard, but not this hard. September can't come soon enough.. We too will be going to the Sundance Saloon. I can't wait to see everyone, especially my boy... he is on 03 DIV 338..

I am sorry to hear that. I will be praying for him. I will be excited to meet you at Sundance Saloon. I am sure he will be fine once he is done with boot camp.

I hope so. I can't stop crying I miss him so much.. We will fly in on Sepy 5th. We are coming from Sacramento, Ca. We're staying at The Bluff Inn. It's 1/2 a mile from the base. The closest one around. I can't wait to meet you .

Me too! We are coming from Phoenix Arizona but we are flying in on the 4th.

Is the Sundance the one hosted by Old Sarge? We are RSVPed for that one.

I reserved 2 rooms at the Navy Lodge so that will save some money.  Hoping my ex-husband and older children will contribute at least some to the total cost.  I will help as much as possible but just started a new job.  Think at least part of the family will drive down.  My older son, middle daughter and I all work so we can't drive as that would take too much time away from work but hopefully her dad, older sister, little brother and my grandson will drive so we do not have to pay that much for airfare.  Spirit Airlines has cheap flights into O'hare but I don't know how far of a drive that is.

I am hoping to get to spend a little time with her on Friday and then give the rest of the family plenty of time as I plan to travel to Pensacola during her A-school to visit with her.  We discussed this before I left so I will probably fly in and back out pretty quickly.

Yes it is Sundance hosted by Old Sarge. I reserved a room at Navy Lodge as well. Where are you coming in from? I am going down to Pensacola during my son's A-School as well. I have an extended stay reserved with a full kitchen so I can cook him Thanksgiving dinner since he cannot go more than 400 miles from the base. I hope to see you so we can meet in person and keep in touch after graduation especially because we both will be in Pensacola as well.

We are staying at a hotel a half a mile to the base. It was the closest one. We are coming from Sacramento Ca. We are excited. I cant wait. Sept 5th cant come soon enough.. I called the Navy Lodge, but they didnt have a shuttle and it was farther away from the base. The Bluff Inn where we are staying has a shuttle and is darn near on the base :)   I cant wait to meet you....
