Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

DAUGHTER GOING TO MEPS 4/18/2011.I have a lot of questions

My daughter will be going to MEPS on the 18th of April in San Diego. She has been told by her recruiter that if they offer her a job of peeling potatoes she better take it and if she does not he will be upset.  Question. So my daughter who has a 4.5 GPA is going to just go in and accept any job thrown at her come the day of job assignment?  What happens if she does not choose a job they have offered her that day?  Can her recruiter choose to not work with her anymore?

My son returned from MEPS today. He said it was a good experience and his recruiter was a great help while there. Only a couple of rates were open and he chose IT- information technology. They will do the background check since he needs a security clearance and once that is done he will sign. His ship date will be around November or December. I know one thing he said they told him is that if he had not picked a rate then and wanted to hold out for something different, they told him they would have thought of him as "not interested" and would basically just have forgotten him. He asked about the aviation field, which is what he really likes. His recruiter told him he could get him into it if he really wanted it. But it does sound like when you go to MEPS you really need to take something that is offered or walk away and probably never get called back.
