Yesterday she left, I am wondering how she is making it today. We went and saw her sworn in and then we texted while she was at the airport. She called me from the Chicago airport and then I got a call about midnight saying she was there, and she would talk to us in 3 weeks. I hope that she has survived today okay, because I didn't receive a phone call saying they were sending her home...

Hi Charlee,
My daughter also left for BC on August, 18 from Jackson, MS. I have a million questions myself. I got the same two calls, one from the Chicago airport and a very quick call from the base about 11:15 that night. She said she would be able to call in two weeks. The BOX came in the mail today. Very hard for me. The unknown is so hard to deal with. My prayers are with all the Navy moms. I can't wait to talk to her.
Navy mom, MS
THE BOX came today. I don't see Bible and Cross. Other thing even pen was in the box. Now waiting for a letter and ship/divission #. When I will now that?
ilze you may be able to get the address from the recruiter. The form letter will come in a few days. It will have address, ship/division, grad info, PIR (Pass In review=graduation) date, password for gate pass (don't lose this) and a few lines from your rct.
Thank You for info. I don't see his recruiter since Tuesday when my husband left (my office is across the street from NAVY rec of. Lucky me:) Hope to see him on Monday or Tuesday and find out all information.
You're welcome. You'll get the address soon and then you can mail all those letters you've been writing.
Your daughter must have been alittle ahead of mine. You got your box today?? Maybe mine will come on Monday...
Hi. My son left on August 18th as well from AZ. I know how you feel. I am hoping he's okay too. I guess we'll hear from them about the same time. I spoke to my son 3 times before he arrived in Great Lakes. I know they'll be okay. Just know you're not alone!
Thanks, let's stick together!
Just wanted to stop by, as I see that alot of you just had your love one leave. I will be attending my sons PIR this week and I know how anxious you are right now. This site is a life saver and once you get your ship and division, join that site! What I have learned is that some people will get more letters than others, more information that others, and even a phone call or 2 more than others. Dont try and figure it out, it will drive you insane. Rely on the others on your site, and between all of you, you will be able to piece together the important dates, like tests, inspections, gas chamber, and Battlestations. I would highly recommend that when you do get that first phone call, around week 3 or 4, have a list of questions written down that you want to know about, as most of us went to jelly and had a hard time even thinking on the phone call.

Best of luck and do remember one thing, no news is good news.
Where are you planning on staying? Please let us know how things go and how your lodging and travel conditions were.Thanks.
Hi! just saw your post. My son left from SA International on Wednesday also! We were with him from 7:30 am at Ft. Sam Houston, 2 briefings, his swearing in, then sat with him at the airport from noon till his flight departed at 5:35pm! I'm still mentally exhausted, more from crying and missing him so badly. I'm so new at all this too, waiting for his box, waiting for info on where to send letters, etc. I wouldn't know about any of this had it not been for NAVYFORMOMS.
Hi, Keep logging on, we can put the pieces of the puzzle together with everyones help!
