My daughter left for bootcamp yesterday. The long wait at the airport was so stressful, all other branches left within 2 hours, we had a 6 hour wait. We received her call in the middle of the night, and now wait until we hear something next.

Tori C....sometimes (about 2-3 times a year) the RTC will "take a week off" from PIR. So, therefore, many rcts will be in holding/processing longer.
My son also left on 5/22. We are from Chelmsford MA. Very tough week. Can't wait to receive a letter from him. His birthday is this Wednesday, so I'm guessing I will be having another tough week. Can't wait till July!!!!!
Patrat have you gotten the addy? If so. what is the division #?
I have nothing yet.
Patrat...you can call the recruiter on Tuesday for the addy.
My son also left on 5/22 from Sacramento. He'll turn 21 while at GL. What's up with all these summer birthdays??? Agree, very very tough week. It's the routine things that are hard for me. Like leaving work and texting 'going to store, need anything?' Why is it so hard when I am so very proud of him and his choice to serve his country??? Hope he gets to meet all your kids and they can exchange stories about who's mom misses them the most. No box or form letter, yet. Tuesday??? Please Please all you 5/22 ship dates post right away when you get your 'kid in to box'. k?
Here is the link to your PIR group...lots of info and support
I still have not received my "kid in the box" or my form letter. I guess with the holiday weekend everything is moved back a day. I am hoping it will come today although I know I will cry when it arrives. Will make everything seem so final. It was hard enjoying the holiday weekend too knowing they were all at basic probably doing nothing or they are busting their tails. But atleast our 1st week is coming to a clase and they should be moving into their 2nd week of training which is Confidence week. They will be going through the confidence course this week and Teamwork and confidence are the themes for the week.
I hear ya! I haven't rec'd anything yet either. And yes, it was a hard weekend. I just tried to keep myself busy. Now I have to get through tomorrow which is my son's birthday. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. I'm am happy for those who have PIR coming up, I can't wait till we are at that point!
I just received my daughter's box delivered by FedEx. I don't think I can open it yet, I will wait until my husband comes home tonight.
Me too, I was hard to take the package from the deliverman, poor FedEx guy had no idea why the package meant so much. The hardest part was getting her phone back, that thing was glued to her.
