Well i woke up yesterday thinking we still had 22 days and her recruiter called and the time has been cut to 15 days before she ships for bootcamp. Her origanal date was dec 13 but they need her sooner in fl so they moved her date back. She is so super excited and ready to go and im scared to death  not because shes leaving for bootcamp but because My first baby is leaving home.I know that she is physically and mentally ready to start this next chapter but i dont know that im mentally ready for it.I went on a mini vacation with her dad and was gone 11 days and while i was gone all i heard is how much she misses me and loves me and when i returned she absolutely squeezed the life out of me.How do i know that shes gonna get through the extreme home sickness.Someone please tell me how to cope with this i have 3 kids and i am extremely close to all 3  they come to me with anything and i help them figure out how to solve it.

There is an old saying  "dont borrow trouble" no one is for surehow the recruit will respond to BC and yes it is hard when one of the kids leaves home but dont let your imagination lead you down that path. She is going to join up with others just like her and she will make friends and be so busy learning to be a sailor that she wont be as scared as you are..Keep a scrapbook from MEPS on ward her letters and notes on how you are feeling add pics of what is happening at home while she is gone.  Send her lots of letters and cards but no musical ones or anything that draws attention to her.On here join the bootcampmoms group and then the pir group they will help you the most.

Thank you Judy. You are absolutely right.Im just gonna clear my head. Can i send her photos?

scan them or print them on plain paper and do same with newspaper clippings.
