I have a nephew in Div 072.  I am a proud mom of a Navy Nuc (he PIR'd last December).  Would like to keep up with my nephew's PIR group this time around.

Hi there, my son is in the same ship and div as yours!  Have you received anything, letter, call, news?

Coming from PA, booked everything!

Would love to know what kind of news, my son is in the same DIV..... Missing him and not hearing anything is killing me,,,,,, Thanks

Just want to know if you child is getting mail yet from u, my son is in the same DIV, and I got 4 letters from him on Friday and he is upset with me for not writting him but I have everyday. would love to know if they started to get their mail yet.....

Last December when my son PIR'd, we stayed at the Residence Inn Chicago/Waukeegan/Gurnee.  It is only 3-5 miles from the RTC.  It was almost brand new last year.  They have regular rooms, 1 bedroom suites, and 2 bedroom suites.  Last year it cost us $89/night for a 2 bedroom suite.  Very, very nice place.  We had my son's fiance with us and my daughter so they shared one bedroom and my hubby & I had the other.  It had a full kitchen and living room.  Can't beat it for the price.  Not sure if rates are still the same or not.  Here is the info for anyone interested: Residence Inn Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee 1440 South White Oak Drive · Waukegan, Illinois 60085 USA.  Here's the website http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/chirw-residence-inn-chicago-waukegan-gurnee/.  Hope this helps!

Remember on graduation weekend, your new sailor may be able to spend the weekend with you depending on where they are going after graduation.  My son is a Navy Nuc and he did not get to spend the weekend...only Friday after graduation and he had to be back at RTC that night because his flight out was next day.  They took him to Chicago Ohare at 5 or 6 in the AM, but his flight didn't leave until 6PM, so we spent the day with him at the airport.  We could have left the airport during the day to go to downtown Chicago, but it was snowing like crazy that day, so we just hung out in the airport with him until he boarded his plane, then we headed home.  Just keep in mind you probably won't know what his/her travel plans are until the actual graduation.  If they are staying Great Lakes, they usually move them over to their A-School quarters (very nearby) and then they have the weekend free.  Just something to keep in mind when making travel arrangements.  You would hate to plan your return flight for Saturday, then find out your sailor is free all weekend.

My son is in div 072 ship 03.  Looking forward to PIR day.

My son also.  Have you found a place to stay and if so where?

I have made reservations for the Residence Inn about 2-3 miles away.

Good choice!

My son is in the same div and shop!  Can't wait until 2/17 !

I can't wait to see my man also:) I can't wait for PIR day:):):)
FEB17!!!!!

My husband is in this division also! My daughter and I miss him terribly! (shes 3yrs old). Anxiously waiting for a letter, another call, something!
