Welcome to the discussion group for division 821.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division.  Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division.  Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Hi everyone,  The mail came and another brief letter,  seems the studying and those 4a.m.workouts are leaving less time for writing.  heard alot of the guys yacked after one strenuous early morning run and after that they had breakfast ha,ha!  My son is 21 and also has a SWCC contract.  He did say in a prior letter that after PIR he will remain at Great Lakes only across the street for an eight week pre-SWCC training instead of leaving for Coronado.  That is great news because we may get to spend more of the weekend with him after PIR.  He is also going to be able to have his cell phone and lap -top.  I told him to compile a list of stuff he needs us to bring out to him.  I'm pretty sure it will be the same for your son.  We are heading quickly into fall and October 5 will be here soon enough, All of you are great and it is so nice to have this support!!!!!!

I also received a letter today!!....He had to call his wife yesterday because of a problem with his pay and he gets to call her back on Friday to check on the status of his pay. Just wish I was the one who could get the call, I so want to hear his voice. 22 days to go and I can't wait!!!...My son said he has been coughing for 2 weeks. He is pretty used to long runs and heavy workouts, so I don't know if he was one of the yackers lol. His wife was glad they weren't going right away because now she can be home for christmas...Blackcrow I too am very grateful for this website and encourage all navy moms to utilize it......Does anyone know if Sarge has a website or a link, I want to check out a ride to PIR?

Thanks for the link to the list, what is a great help!  I've compiled a list from this and am sending a letter to our SR asking him if he wants anything additional.  Graduation day is coming quickly!

My brother is 20, so sounds like he and your son are close in age. My brother said he doesn't get much time to write as he is on ship crew meaning he has to clean alot and when others get time to write he is cleaning. So we shouldn't expect many letters. Hope you hear from him soon.
We also got a letter today...saying he will be across the lake for eight weeks before coronado. I had read somewhere on this site about the 4 person limit to PIR and they usually have room for more but they have to wait in the lobby until everyone on the "list" gets seated. Our SR wrote that he asked and they said there is no such thing, I'm in such a dilema in determining which kid to tell they can't go:-(

michele, On the form letter there is a space for 4 names, those are the ones currently listed as attending PIR under your SRs name. Yes, more than 4 can come, however this is one of the larger TGs and it is always possible that not everyone will get in. The drill hall can hold up to 16 division and guests, but not all guests must be on the list. Those that are active military or retired military do not have to be listed as well as children 12 years and younger.

Approx 2 weeks before PIR you SR will have the opportunity to change the names that he/she originally listed and that will be final, but those extras may come and stand in line as a first come first in if there is room. We say bring them all, if they don't all get into PIR, which I think has happened once in the last year, there still is the rest of the day (or weekend if staying in GL) for everyone to see each other.

I am not sure who he asked, and haven't heard that anything has changed, not even from last weeks PIR group,  so I say bring them all.

Thank you so much...that helps so much

So happy to hear all the feed back!

I am thrilled we will have time to spend with them during the weekend.

Unfortunately we were told we would only have a little time so our flights have been booked to leave Sunday morning :(

I cannot wait for PIR, I was wondering if the 800 divisions stand out some how, and now I am giddy with expectation!!!

SO proud of our exceptional sons!!

Even though we still have no letter, I feel much better than I have been recently.

Thank you all for sharing!!

yes, they can wait in the lobby and get in....you just have to be there early

We finally received a letter today!! It was the most fabulous letter I have ever read!
He sounds strong and very happy.
I cannot wait to meet all these amazing young men that my son has the privilege to be training with.
