For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hi Gsmom, just wanted to reach out to you because I am from AZ too. My daughter is signing up this following Tuesday. I have driven to Chicago area before took a couple days. There are a lot of tolls so take change. A GPS would be great if you have one, if not the atlas or maps will work. Good Luck and safe travels.
we flew in 2013, then again in July this year we will fly again.. I am not brave enough to drive it haha
its an easy flight, we did it in Jan with tons of snow so landing was scary.. I just could not stand to be in car that long
Gsmom, I'm driving from AZ too due to being afraid to fly. I'm renting a car and getting a pass plate for the Toll charges, I am allowing an extra day in case of any troubles I may have! I was going to take Amtrak but reviews were not good and could be delayed.

Wow, How is she doing with time so near? I know my son kept counting down the days and when the day finally came lol he drove to the recruiting office and I was the passenger and he went in a big circle around our small town to get there and I said to him are we taking a tour and he laughed and said yes I want one last look!! I am til this day so emotional when I read others post and when the letters get here... sorry so long winded!!
