Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

end date medical insurance
my son is finishing his enlistment in a couple of weeks. trying to coordinate the date we need to put him on our insurance. does anyone know when his navy insurance officially ends? Is it his last day of work (which is a few weeks early since he didn't use all of his leave? is he covered to the end of the month from his last day of work at least? i think we will have to show paperwork since we will be adding him mid year. thanks for any info

If he didn't use all his leave, he will be on "terminal leave" until it runs out. He will be paid and insured until that ends. He should be attending a class on separating which has all this information.
Also, he needs to file with the VA as soon as he can once he separates.

I didn't think you could add a person to your policy of they were previous independent (ie a Navy active duty). You might want to check on that....
And like Anti M says, he needs to be attending Transition Assistance Program (TAP) class, and they will explain all the new rules...

He did take the TAP class and thought it was great. They told him at the class that he did have the option of getting on our insurance and after checking, we can add him on mid year since it is a "life event". He can stay on until he's 26. We just need the date and he's on an underway and returns the day he's finished. Good to know he will be insured through his terminal leave. That gives us some time.
