For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Enterprise Troubles
Hi my wife got a letter from our daughter finally and she wrote how unhappy the ships moral has gotten.Two sailors have passed at thier own hand. A third was rescued.We are going to double our
efforts to stay in touch and send as much love to her as possible.God Bless our people in harms way.Please if you have a friend family member send them a note.

Thank you for the information. Does anyone know how long it takes for a sailor to receive something mailed to him/her? Estimate? Several weeks?

My sailor is on the Enterprise, packages take anywhere from 7 days to 4 weeks to get to them. Its all in the hands of the Navy! Letters and cards are faster, boxes take longer, it all depends on when they get RAS (replenishment at sea). Come join us in the group listed below.

I really hate to say this, but this happens all over the USN. For some reason some young people feel the only way out is to take their own life. Being on deployment is hard for some people, they are so used to being state side and have never been that far away from family. Some don't know how to make friends, or do hard work.
Stay postive and upbeat, send letters and packages to your Sailors. Put in a little something extra for that person your Sailor knows who gets nothing.

In the 23 years of Navy life with my youngest son the biggest thing for him was contact with family and friends..A week never has gone by that he did not receive letters or a box from us or his wife when on deployment. We always sent enough for him to share with other crewman or friends along with notes telling him to let us know if someone needed a :hug" from home. When he served IA in afghan his boxes were shared with other NATO troops that were not getting anything and word spread fast when he got boxes from home..This can be a lonely life for those who have never been away from home or who dont make friends easily encourgae your sailor to put out a hand to others to try to help someone through a rough patch include that one person that seems to be a loner to join in during down times they say a smile and a hand goes a long way for some.
