We got the devastating call that our SR did not pass her run test. Missed it by 15 seconds. The call was devastating and broke my heart. She cried as she was scripted to say that she was sorry that she failed us. I was crushed. In the 2 minutes I got out of the call that she would try again on Monday and then again on Wednesday. Monday came and at 22:40 the phone rang and our conversation was filled with tears. She didn't make the run this time by 20 seconds. When she runs everywhere else, she is on pace. She said she would get to try one last time (yesterday) and call if she made it. Then she would go through BS21. No call and a night full of prayers, anger and tears.

What really breaks my heart is that because she is in the band, She will still have to play at the graduating ceremony, but not as a graduate.

So, my question is now what? She has not been officially separated that we know of. We know that she has to pass the PFA for BS and she won't have another opportunity prior to tomorrow, so she isn't going to graduate with her sh/div. I am told that there will be no graduation at all if she didn't make it on their scheduled PIR. She will keep testing and once she passes, be put on a plane and sent to A school. No glitz and no glamour. As a mother, my heart aches because I want to know what is being done to help her succeed. She tells me she ran 5 miles and then they sat on the concrete for 10 hours. That isn't motivation to succeed but to quit. I am so afraid that she is giving up. So for those that may have been in my shoes, here are my questions:
What is the next step?
Will I know when she is separated?
How many tries will she get?
Is there any "true" motivation there for them?
When will I really get to see her face to face?
How often will they get to call home?
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

There is a group called "fit program".  (I tried to put the link but it wasn't working for me.)  Search it in the groups & you will find it. Join that and you should be able to get some answers. They will work with your SR to get her to pass....I believe they get something like 10 tries, but I'm not sure.  Stay positive for her and keep encouraging her.  She can do this!  Good luck!

I was able to get the link.....

Im sending all the positive vibes to BOTH of you! It sounds like she is trying hard! Im sure she will do GREAT!  Keep us posted! They did say they were ALL a team, Im sure others are helping her too!

Hi Shannon,  My daughter was in fit, and then went to RCU for shin splints.  My daughter also didn't pass her final PFA for the run.  Stay positive, I know it's hard.  Just remember to breathe.  The RDC's will run with them, to help pace them to pass.  She get 10 tries, but if she shows improvement, they'll extend her time.  Write her everyday.  It's very easy for them to feel like failures, let her know how proud you are of her.  Stay positive and encouraging. When she passes, chances are she'll be in the THU, the holding unit, and you'll get to go to Great Lakes to see her.   If she gets separated, you'll get another phone call. Remember, no news is good news.  Mine was separated, due to a bum ankle that wasn't healing.  I wish her luck.  I'd advise to join the FB group, but I think you did already.  Lots of support there.  Good luck and HUGS!

There is info for you in Battle Stations-21 (BST).
