My son just called!!!  He is in the FIT program, he just needs to shave a few seconds off of his run but he has passed everything else!!!  Woooooo Hoooooo I am so glad that he got to call and he sounded happy and POSITIVE that he is going to get this run!!!  That was a hard 3 weeks to endure after getting the initial call that he won't graduate with his division.  But things are looking up!!!!

That is great!

Check your My Page.

Hi Hayden's Mom. When was your son's PIR?

It was on 11/15 so he didn't get to graduate with his division.  He said he has to pass the run then pass Battlestations then go straight to his A school.  I am just waiting on that call!!  Thanks for asking!!!  :)

Oh Wow! So have you heard from him since he called and said that he had to pass the Run test. My son was due to graduate on Nov 27th, but did not pass the running part of the fitness test also. I had hoped that I would hear from him soon, but I have not. So I will have to wait at least three weeks to hear from him? You are saying that you are still waiting for a call, correct?

Hi New Navy Mom, He originally called on 11/6 and told me he wasn't going to graduate with his division on 11/15.  Then I didn't hear from him again until 11/26, he called me about 3pm in the afternoon and said it was the run that he didn't pass and he has only been able to try again once a week.  He said that he never knows when he will try again, they just come and get him and say it's time.  He did say that there are a lot of exercise machines in there and they are on them every day.  He said there are some good guys in the FIT division and they talk and tell stories and try to pass the time.  He also said he thinks he has about 10 tries total, but he wants to get out of there and go on to A school as soon as he can.  I know it's hard not to hear anything, believe me I know, but hang in there and he will call.  If he passes soon they should immediately let him call unless he goes straight to Battlestations, they he may call you when he passes that.  Sit tight he will call!!!!

That was great that he was able to call you that far in advance. My son called us on Monday 11/25 to let us know that he would not be graduating and we had already flown in to Chicago. He was in what is called a push div so he left home on Oct 7th and was graduating in 7 weeks which was the 27th of Nov. Since we had already traveled to Chicago for the graduation and were staying with family we did not leave. He did call us again on Tuesday to tell us that he would get a chance to do his fun the next morning at 4:00 a.m. and that was all he told us. I was told by one of the mothers and admins on the PIR 11-27-2013 Facebook page that they only get calls when they have failed something, so I am staying optimistic that he passed the run and is only waiting to do his battle station with the next DIV that has battle stations coming up. I am trying to hang in there, and I keep my phone close to me, just in case he calls.

Thanks for the information. I was wondering how many tries they get to do the run test, good to know that you have a number.

SR's in FIT usually can do the run on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until they pass as long as those days are not on a holiday. During November and December the opportunities have been and will be reduced because they don't have divisions doing the PFA on all of those days due to a lower number of divisions in some of the TG's and also weeks that don't have PIR. He can attempt as many times as needed to pass. After being moved to FIT, Recruits call when there is a change in status, which sometimes is after passing the run (usually that is for those who may be able to still have PIR on time after telling family that they might not have PIR) and other times it is after BST. Recruits have also been able to call if they have been in FIT for over 2 weeks as a morale booster. See Battle Stations-21 (BST).

Very informative, thanks so much!!!

You are very welcome.
