My son just called!!! He is in the FIT program, he just needs to shave a few seconds off of his run but he has passed everything else!!! Woooooo Hoooooo I am so glad that he got to call and he sounded happy and POSITIVE that he is going to get this run!!! That was a hard 3 weeks to endure after getting the initial call that he won't graduate with his division. But things are looking up!!!!
Another week and two days has passed, but still no word from my SR. I am really concerned now. I thought that I would hear something by now. I am very concerned that my SR may be feeling down, which I am sure he is! Feeling that he has disappointed his family, I really need to talk to him to reassure him again. I am sure this is why he has not written not one word and I do not know how to write him! He needs reassurance I am positive and hopefully they will let him call/write soon. I have asked via email at email@example.com, but no one answers my emails at that address. How do I know if he is in FIT?
NewNavyMom, This time is very hard on you and your sailor. Please try to remember, they are in the military now and are now adults. Believe me, it took me a long long time to come to terms with that. I heard from my son on 11/6 and he told me that he wasn't going to graduate with his division on 11/15. That just broke my heart and I couldn't even go to work the next day for crying and crying, and I don't know if I was sad for me or him or both. There were no letters no calls until 11/26 the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. From what I understand they let the sailors in FIT call home about every 2 weeks as a morale booster to them. The Navy wants our sons and daughters to pass and become sailors, they have invested a lot of time and money into them and they want a 100% success rate. That is why they have this division. Hang tight, try try to be patient and try to think about the wonderful choice he has made to become a United States Sailor in the most prestigious country in the world, and that his choice will make a difference. Hopefully next year at this time this will all be a memory. :)
Hayden's Mom, it is a very hard time. I have to try to hold it together. I do understand that he is an adult in the military, but he is still my baby. Youngest of our 3 boys. It is very hard!!!! I know that he is in very well trained and good hands and safe, but just that motherly instinct to worry and wonder what he is doing, how he is doing, what is he feeling, just will not stop!!! I will keep all the advice that I am given in mind for reassurance. I really appreciate you replying back to me, it feels good to talk to someone besides my husband. He tells me the same thing, not to worry, but I cannot help but. I just feel that he does not understand my worry being a male and hearing from other moms who have gone through what I am going through helps comfort me. I will hand in there knowing that there is a possibility that I could hear from him in another week to two weeks. Knowing that the Navy will work with him to get him to 100% success rate is comforting. Thanks for the pep talk!!! Much needed! Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Anytime you need to talk I am here!!! I have prayed more since my son left than I have ever prayed before, and I do find comfort in that!! I find myself crying while I am at work, in the car, even in the grocery store, seems like everything reminds me of my little boy, which he will always be. Stay strong and pray pray pray (((((((HUGS)))))))))
Thanks for all of your support. I finally received an answer on today. I went home for lunch and received an email back on today from

hi Haydens Mom did your son finally make it out? He was in my sons graduation class My son was in Division 008. I believe he might know him is your son going to Corpsman school afterwards?
As far as I know he is still in FIT. I know he can make the run but it seems like it is taking a long time. His graduation date was suppose to be 11/15 and it is now 12/11, I don't want to keep worrying but I am starting to realize that I probably won't see him for Christmas, I didn't see him Thanksgiving either. But that is OK, I just want him to make the run go to Battlestations and get out of there and go on to A school!!! Thank you for asking!
He will get it done! I hope that you will get to see him for Christmas, I am praying that I will get to see my son as well and will keep praying for you also Hayden's mom!!!
Hope you ladies have had some good news for the holidays!!!
Thank you!!! :)
Thank you, I hope so too, but have not heard anything as of today. Like Hayden's mom I haven't heard from my SR since 11/26. I just assumed since Friday Dec. 13th was the last graduation, and I had not heard anything from him, then I will not until January because there are no more battlestations. I am hoping to hear something for Christmas!!!! I still keep my phone charged and near.
Thank you!!! :)
