Hello fellow GM parents. It will be interesting to compare our sailors progression here. My name is Bill and my son Brett did his PIR on Jan. 9th He was INDOC until Jan.27th and has started SCC for 11 business days. He had to move to another ship the Mon. before classes started. Class times are from 4pm to either 12 or 1am. When complete he has to move again and will be on hold from anywhere between 1 to 4 weeks before the next class session starts. He may have to move a total 4 times but is hoping to keep it to 3. So if your sailor has a lot of stuff and can not carry all of it in one move they MUST leave it behind. My son is going to mail a bunch of stuff home so he can manage his things in one trip. His old roommate is looking after his things until he can mail it home. His GM ATT should start the 1st part of March and A school the 1st part of May. He has been told by his superiors that GM graduation should be just before the end of July. So if anyone has any other info I would love to hear from you. Godspeed to our sailors. Bill

Hi Bill, My name is Patty. My son PIRd on October 31st and is also doing the GM classes. He was on hold for about a month or so before he did the Scc class, he just started his ATT class last week-he told me he was on a waiting list of over 400 sailors waiting to start.I belong to a group on NFM's called mom's of GM's, and we all share things about our sailors being in GM.It would be nice to have a dad as a member, so check it out if you get a chance.
I would love to! The more info we gather the more we can help others. If the Navy can't get the dates right, maybe we can! Thanks for the invite. Godspeed to our Sailors. Bill
