My son will be leaving for boot camp on July 9th. I am trying to plan a party for him but having trouble coming up with ideals. Can anyone out there please help me? The party will probably be towards the end of June.

Thank you in advance.

Great idea!

go on pintrest there is a cake on there that looks like a sailors uniform with the sailor hat on top it was a big hit at my sons going away party

A bit of advice from my experience. We had our son's party on Saturday and he leaves for MEPS today.  For the last week we were crazy busy trying to get the party ready.  Yesterday we spent the day cleaning up and hanging out.  I think if I had it to do over again, I would have had the party a week earlier.  I feel like a lot of time was focused on the party prep.  Now, on the other hand, it kept us so busy that we are ready for the things to calm down.  It kept our minds off of the inevitable as well.  I just wanted to give you a couple of things to consider when planning.

Thank you for the advice..I bet it was busy...We went ahead and planned his party for June 21st. So that will give us a copy of weeks with him to hang out and also give him time to spend with his friends also without being in school and not having any sports activities to go..Thanks again.

We just had our "see you later bbq" for our Son.. He left today.. :( I did all red, white, and blue theme.. Party City had great selection of items. Also http://www.partypro.com/patriotic-party-supplies/armed-forces/us-na... has Navy plates, they are really nice. I hope this helps.

My son is also leaving on July 9th......i've only got as far as requesting the few days off work before he leaves.

We had Brandon`s party Saturday, May 3, 2014. He left Monday, May 5, 2014 for MEPS and May 6, 2014. Here is a picture of his cake and banner.

OMG!!!! I LOVE the banner!!! The cake is awesome also...Thank you so much for the pictures..Prayers and good thoughts for you, Brandon and your whole family...God Bless ya'll..

If you don't mind me asking where did you order the banner from?

My son leave this coming Tuesday. He was suppose to leave in August and last we he got the call his date had been moved up.  We have managed to throw it all together for Mother's Day.  I asked him what he wanted.  I read somewhere to make sure they get their fill of their favorites before they go.  This day is totally dedicated to him and what he wants!  I just say of course dear when he calls to add more things to the menu.

I said yesterday it's a good thing my son is gone. I  think I put on ten pounds in the last month cooking and going to eat all his favorites.  :)

JCVNavy Mom that is so sweet of you to be so good to your son on Mother's Day. I can tell you are going to make a great Navy Mom! You go girl!
