Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

going away party

My son will be leaving for boot camp on July 9th. I am trying to plan a party for him but having trouble coming up with ideals. Can anyone out there please help me? The party will probably be towards the end of June.

My daughter's party is coming up this Saturday, June 7th. I'm working on a Patriotic Theme, but my daughter is SO "I don't care, you don't have to decorate, blah, blah, blah." She's kind of a buzz kill, but I love her. She just wants some of her favorite foods, family, friends and FUN. She could care less about the rest. I guess I should be lucky. Although, I did find some paper with patriotic border for guests to write her something and I'll mail them to her while she's at BC. Somehow I think our kids don't really care for the pomp & circumstance. It's just us parents wanting to make it a big deal for them. So I say, just do Whatev! and your future sailor will content with FFFF! <3

My favorite thing was the Vinyl banner we had printed for my son's party.  It is 2 foot by 4 foot and hangs vertically with his name, an anchor, and "Honor, Courage, Commitment" at the bottom.  At his party everyone used a black sharpie and signed it.  It is hanging on his bedroom door now. I took a picture of it and sent it to him (he's at bootcamp now) so he can remember everyone praying and supporting him while he's there.  It also reminds me how much everyone loves him.

For our sons party we had a banner made and I ordered from a company online the Navy emblem for the cake.  I had Publix bake the cake and I added the emblem.  I had all navy blue plates and utensils. I had yellow table cloths and napkins,  I rolled the utensils in the napkin and tied it with a navy ribbon and a lifesaver.  I found yellow buckets and putt the rolled napkins in the buckets.  We had blue and gold star balloons. We have been releasing one balloon a week since he left.  His dad and I each released on the first day he left.  I  found at Target note cards with an anchor on the front and I had all the guest write something to him and I will include one or two in my letters.  We had lots of good food and friends and he really enjoyed the day.  I think I was able to attach the pictures of the banner and cake.  Computers are not my thing so I hope it worked.
